Slightly different arrangments over the course Mannix run on TV. I love Lalo Schifrin's Mannix theme - all the arrangements; That's one of the first shows I remember watching as a kid! ... I can't pick one either...
Cheers was a good one for evoking that nice-cosy-among-friends type feeling. The Cosby Show in all it's incarnations gives me the warm fuzzy feeling too. Although it is kind of "harsh" in your face jazzy (bit like The Simpsons) Currently The Big Bang Theory (Barenaked Ladies) is one of my faves. Grange Hill and Screen Test (UK children's TV themes) are cool and remind me of childhood in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The Equaliser and Airwolf were good electronic mid to late 1980s ones. Angel is a classic (just pips Buffy for me) Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

This time i'll choose Harry Lubin's opening and closing themes for the 60s Sci-Fi series...
...One Step Beyond ("Fear" & "Weird") The Perry Mason theme is my usual pick when this subject comes up. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm [Edited 5/30/09 7:20am] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Lots of great themes here, most of which I think surpass the idealism of their shows.
For example, “Mary Tyler Moore” was a very good sitcom, but it still seldom reached that special place locked inside its song and spinning hat visuals of utter joy and independence.

I've got a few, some of which haven't been mentioned here:
The ORIGINAL intro to Baywatch (season 1) - Save Me by Peter Cetera: The more famous Baywatch intro: The intro to the classic cop sitcom Sledge Hammer: And one I remember from when I was a kid... Ducktales..... with Icelandic lyrics!
