Im very excited about Celebrate. From what i could hear at the concert, the songs sounds really clubby, and a really 'up' vibe to it....similar synths to 'Get Together', a song i felt was one of the strongest from Confessions.

As for the restrospective - i think it cant be anything less than 3 CDs. I think as a matter of principle they shouldnt include any cover versions - so no Fever, American pie, Dont Cry For Me Argentina.....but id be amazed if she left that one out. If she leaves off Bad Girl, i will personally hunt down Guy Oseary and bitch slap him.
In fact these are all her lesser know singles that HAVE to go on there:

Everybody
Burning Up
Gambler
Causing A Commotion
Oh Father
Keep It Together
Bad Girl
Rain
Ill Remember

All of those are great and belong on a set (finally). Although in the case of "Gambler", was it even a single? Something tells me that one is long forgotten. I'm still hoping at least "Who's That Girl" winds up on there but something tells me it will only be the biggest hits that she likes ("Like A Virgin", "Holiday"...blah, blah, blah). We;ll have to wait and see, though.

I'm not sure if she likes Holiday and LAV at all. Last year she sad, she could never perform these songs. Well, one year later there is Holiday...

Following the exciting world exclusive news we reported yesterday here, MadonnaTribe has heard more details about the upcoming Madonna single and greatest hits album.

As all our readers know by now, "Celebrate" is set to hit radio waves around the world on July 28th, but those who attended the Sticky & Sweet Tour already managed to hear a glimpse of the lead single from the new Madonna collection titled "Celebration".

"Celebrate" can indeed be heard in the show during the "Holiday" number. As reported here first, bits of both the new single and Madonna's oldie "Everybody" are sampled in the song, although fans should not be confused by the vocals introducing the song (Celebration, Celebration) which are those from Holiday and only a hint to "Celebrate" which doesn't feature vocals borrowed from Madonna's 1983 megahit but it's a completely new, kick ass uptempo anthem in pure Madonna style.

Speaking of new songs, "Revolver" is now the only second new track to be part of the Greatest Hits package, while "Broken", the other track produced by Paul Oakenfold won't be released.

Last but not least, Madonna fans will be happy to know that "Celebration", the hits collection, is a double album!

the thing about this new track is that it almost sounds old.. but in a good way. its classic m, sexy speaking part and all, and i know u are all going to be forced to get up and dance!"

"One other [Oakenfold-produced track] will be a B-Side"

'cool' might actually end up as a b side or something, we'll see. its a fierce track. 'broken' is just dull, pointless to release it and it does sound rather similar to 'celebrate' anyway. Cool it's reworked (by Oakenfold I assume) track which originally Madonna recorded in 2002 with Mirwais, probably for American Life. It is known also as "Cool Song
It's not 'I'm so cool' but rather 'It's so cool' - reworked by Paul Oakenfold during the Celebration sessions. The original title for this song is 'The Cool Song' - it was produced by Mirwais and it is something similar to 'The Game' - very acoustic and bare - of course this was the original concept for AL. Anyway back on topic - I am very confident that 'It's So Cool' will be penned for a b-side release!! As for celebrate - only a matter of days before it's in the airwaves getting EVERYONE addicted..

A three disc album would be better (as Soulalive showed us). Something tells me it won't be much better than a mash up of TIC and GVH2. He'll just have to wait and see.

A 2 disc makes sense in terms of appealing to the masses - fans will already own everything anyway. Hopefully they have a box set full of goodies up their sleeves.

I cant imagine there will be much extra that wasnt on TIC, or GHV2, hopefully the single edit of Holiday (inc the piano solo), the original version of Into The Groove (totally remastered), Who's That Girl, Like A Prayer (extended original version), Express Yourself (original version), This Used To be My Playground (it was a US #1), possibly Rain (very good pop ballad), possibly You Must Love Me (i think it would be better than DCFMA), and then all the American Life to Hard Candy stuff, + 2 new songs.

It will be interesting to see what they do include from her last 3 albums. Id imagine Die Another Day, Hung Up, & 4 Minutes will be the only ones to make it.

There won't be any extended versions I bet. They have to edit the shit outta the songs.

I prefer YMLM over Argentina anytime.

I do to because it's an original (and she does it in the new show, right?). If they include "Argentina", it should be the remix that was actually played on pop radio and thus was the hit.

lol I've been trying to find out if the MJ tribute was only for London, or if she would keep doing it. I just looked at some Bercy pics at madonna-connexion and I see it's still part of the show. cool I wonder if she'll do it for the whole tour?

Unfortunately with Itunes (and other musical services) it seems like labels are getting increasingly lazier with putting together collections by not aiming towards the hardcore and putting together sets that will make them very happy but by slapping together something only for the causal fan. Maybe that's always been the case, though.

RUMORED TRACKLIST OF THE WEEK

Fans are talking about this latest tracklist, which appeared on a Madonna forum. An "insider" posted this, claiming that it's the real thing...

MADONNA 'CELEBRATION' 2-CD SET

Disc 1---
Holiday
Like A Virgin
Material Girl
Crazy For You
Into The Groove
Dress You Up
Live To Tell
Papa Don't Preach
True Blue
Open Your Heart
La Isla Bonita
Who's That Girl
Like A Prayer
Express Yourself
Oh Father
Vogue
Hanky Panky
Erotica
Bad Girl

DISC 2---
This Used To Be My Playground
Secret
Take A Bow
Human Nature
You Must Love Me
Frozen
Ray Of Light
Nothing Really Matters
Beautiful Stranger
Music
Don't Tell Me
Die Another Day
Hollywood
Hung Up
Sorry
4 Minutes
Give It To Me
NEW SONG: Celebrate
NEW SONG: Revolver

hmmm I have a few problems with this setlist...

***It's absurd to leave out early hits like "Borderline" and "Lucky Star".These are her first Top 10 hits! disbelief

***I could do without "Hanky Panky".Why not include "Angel" or "Causing A Commotion"? Those two songs are much better than the gimmicky "Hanky Panky".

***"Nothing Really Matters" shouldn't be included.A better choice would be "Drowned World/Substitute For Love".Although it was never released as a single,it's an important song in her catalog and a real fan favorite.

***This tracklisting just proves that Madonna really needs a 3-CD set. There's no way to fit it all on two discs.

well, three cds would be necessary but it would be too expensive. Remember: These kind
a cds are the ones for casual fans. If she would die next year, chances are that peiple would by this CD and it better be relatively cheap!

and honestly: We have the songs anyway. At the end of the day it doesn't matter.

I think it should look like that if the goal is to include her biggest hits only The goal was to include all her UK number 1s, all her US top 5s plus all the songs which made the Top 5 in the UK and the Top 10 in the US (where it was more difficult for her to chart in the Top 5 after 1992) with a few justifiable exceptions.Cover versions which would qualify such as American Pie and Don't Cry For Me Argentina are not included.Holiday is included because it was her first hit. Lucky Star in not included because it missed the UK Top 10 although it was a US Top 5.The Gambler is included in order to give the fans some extra reason to buy the cd since it is not availlable is any other album of hers. Hanky Panky and Rescue Me are not included so people will still have a reason to buy the respective albums where they came from since their inclusion would leave no hits left on those albums not found in other albums of hers. You Must Love Me is included because it was an Academy winner and the only original song on Evita, I do have a problem however with the presence of too many ballads on disk 2 especially the three in a row at 7, 8, 9 followed by Frozen which is pretty slow too althought not a ballad.

Disk 1:
1.Holiday
2.Borderline
3.Like A Virgin
4.Material Girl
5.Crazy For You
6.Into The Goove
7.Angel
8.The Gambler

13.Open Your Heart
14.La Isla Bonita
15.Who's That Girl
16.Causing A Commotion
17.Like A Prayer
18,Express Yourself
19.Cherish

Disk 2:
1.Vogue
2.Justify My Love
3.This Used To Be My Playground
4.Erotica
5.I'll Remember
6.Secret
7.Take A Bow
8.You'll See
9.You Must Love Me
10.Frozen
11.Ray Of Light
12.Music
13.Don't Tell Me
14.Die Another Day
15.Hung Up
16.Sorry

easily the best tracklist ever. you're one of the first to not just include his/her faves. Totally avsurd to think she would include Time Stood Still, prob. can't even remember the song anymore!

Just one flaw: It's called Gambler, not The Gambler.

A 3-CD set with a bonus DVD of all her music videos would be just perfect.

Or at least the ones not on the two compilations already availlable

RUMORED TRACKLIST OF THE WEEK

Fans are talking about this latest tracklist, which appeared on a Madonna forum. An "insider" posted this, claiming that it's the real thing...

This definately looks like a fan made list. To miss out on her two early hits that still get more radio play than a lot of the stuff listed makes no sense.

If this is the true track list, very happy to finally see "Who's That Girl" and "This Used To Be My Playground".
