I own one album combined out of these 20 artists- Metallica's 91 album. What a horrible group of artists.

Hot damn at the Beatles. I agree with the author, not bad for a band that broke up in 1970. Just simply incredible.

I wonder where Michael Jackson, Elvis, and Madonna fall on this list.

Remember that the bulk of sales came at the start of this decade. Overall album sales began to decline precipitously around the middle of 2001 when people got hip to Napster, Gnutella, Limewire, Kazaa, etc. Actually, since YouTube came into being, people don't even have to download rare tracks anymore, because someone will put up a song on YouTube so people can listen to it.

I have 3 Creed albums. I probably should not admit that though, I know that I am in the minority of those who like Creed. LOL

Ditto with the Nickleback shrug

The list covers the spectrum of music though - makes sense.

It's only about the US. It's obvious because of all the ugly and unknown C&W singers. Which other countries would buy this crap?

And Nelly... the last thing he did, I've heard was plesuring his boyfriend.

you're right. You say, the Japanese like C&W as well?

Anyway, I think the Beatles have a real chance to outdo Marshall!

In September they're release their whole catalogue on i-tunes AND remastered CDs.

They will sell easily 3,4 mio with that - in the US alone.

No matter if they were buying them, Creed's first two albums were released in the 90s, and Weathered did about 5x platinum.

actually, country music was HUGE in Europe for a time, and not too long ago at that. but to bag on country music is like bagging on rap music (or at least as detrimental). Informed opinions only, please.

No it doesn't. It says people are buying less, which is not a reflection of quality since people can get it for free.
