"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results".

Some1 needs 2 share that quote with Janet bcuz it's the reason she'll never again b what she once was. 4 some reason the growth just sorta stopped after Velvet Rope. She's been spinning her wheels ever since, IMO.

They say she's already in the studio working on a new album, this time with Jam and Lewis.I don't really think that this is the big "re-invention" that her career needs.Jam and Lewis lost their touch a long time ago,and unless the songs are gonna cover other topics than just love and sex,it looks like it's gonna be more of the same.

She should take a year off, travel the world, get inspired again and start a new album with a NEW producer....maybe an edgy dance/pop producer.

I like that she puts out back to back albums but was thinking this might be a nice time to take an extended break. People are gonna be preoccupied with Michael this summer/year. She couls skip and maybe have that baby she keeps pretending she wants to have.

Yeah,it would be pointless for her to release a new CD this year. This is the perfect time for her to take an extended break.

Agreed and where is Michelle now? Tina could have possibly added that to her tour. neutral How old is Clive now? Maybe it's time for him to retire. Guess we'll know for sure with the next Whitty Hutton disc.

It's ridiculous, isn't it? I also don't think the "urban" thing is working for Janet, either. She needs to work with a dance/pop producer and re-connect with dance music fans.

Janet's material has not matured with her age. If u listen 2 her music, u would think that she is 22 years old. Perhaps she should get away from these lame as hiphop producers and get more in tune with a more mature audience. Singing about one's sex life in your 40's is NOT going 2 cut.

Millie Jackson and Bobby Rush have been doing it for ages. A person should never stop singing about sex until all the cum dries up in their body. There's nothing wrong with singing about sex. However, singing about anything over a shit hop beat, is the ultimate crime, not just for someone in their 40s, but somebody of any age.

Hell, she should have done that on the very next album after "Rhythm Nation" when shit hop was first starting to completely take over. As big as she was back then, she might have made a difference and possibly knocked shit hop back underground. Instead, she chose to join the idiots and sellout. I lost all respect for her after that.

I don't know if she's still releasing music but she still does concerts. I saw her on TV performing at a blues festival out in some pasture somewhere. The stage was a flatbed 18 wheeler. lol

As for older people singing about sex and sexuality. I don’t really care but I do think HOW you sing about it makes a difference. Wildest Dreams is still one of the hottest songs to me while leaving something to my imagination.

I hope not. I really like Janet and her music. I know the days of her being a huge seller are over, but I hope she can have some success in the future. Heard she's working with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis again on her upcoming album so maybe they can recapture the magic together. She has always done her best work with them, so i'm looking forward to see what they come up with.

She does a radio show in Dallas (via ISDN line) on Soul 73 KKDA AM. She is a TRIP!!!! I'll tell ya, she tells it like it is. She doesn't really talk about sex much on her show, its mostly politics and the current news. She has me cracking up everyday.

You really get to hear a different side to her personality. She becomes "Mildred" on the air. Sometimes, "Millie" comes out, though.

Remember when Denise went gospel and sold 1 record. She ran her ass back to singing the blues really quick.

That midtempo shit hop type drum machine on "That's The Way Love Goes". She should have stuck to throwing down like she had previously been doing. Maybe at that time, it could have knocked all that Dr. Dre "Chronic" type shit back underground.
