I think some movie producer should come along and turn Donna's life story into a movie (ala Tina Turner).Donna's life has MANY,MANY interesting events which could make a compelling big screen film, such as...
***Singing in the church choir as a young girl ***Leaving America right after high school graduation (she went to Germany, got married, had a baby, and starred in stage musicals like 'Hair' and 'The Me Nobody Knows') ***Hooking up with producers Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte ***Releasing the steamy "Love To Love You Baby" in 1975 ***Her time at Casablanca Records ( a label with many questionable practices) ***Drug use ***Her 1978-79 Disco heyday, where she starred in a movie ('Thank God It's Friday'),won an Oscar for best song ("Last Dance"),and became the biggest female artist of the late 70s. ***Suing Casablanca Records in 1980,demanding to be released from her contract ***Becoming a Born Again Christian ***Becoming the first artist signed to David Geffen's new label Geffen Records. ***Abandoning Disco music for rock/New Wave in 1980. ***Having an entire album (the two-record 'I'm A Rainbow' set ) rejected by Geffen in the fall of 1981 ***The 1982 death of Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart ***Working with Quincy Jones on an album, and the problems they had while recording it ***Rumors of her making vicious anti-gay remarks, and the impact this had on her career throughout the 80s ***Her 1989 comeback hit "This Time I Know It's For Real" | |
