Beyonce bad concert ticket sales http://www.examiner.com/e...n-expected
I have nothing against Beyonce but she seems like a hood ornament belonging to her daddy.

I went to her Beyonce experience show and liked it, but I also went cause I knew she was at her highest peak and I won't want to see her later on. Though I like the current album, I'm not in awe of it like B'day and have no desire to see her in concert again though when i went to the last tour, I thought I would go again.

It's probably because of the economy. Yes, U2, Madonna, and Bruce Springsteen are selling out stadiums, but they also have a long history of doing extraordinary live shows. But I'm sure Beyonce will do just fine.
BTW, who the hell is this gossip reporter? He combines the worst qualities of Perez Hilton with the constant whining about pop acts by Jim Derogatis.

A local radio station reported that,to boost tickets sales,Beyonce is gonna have her husband open a few dates She's gonna bring Jay-Z along in certain cities.
But anyway, this just proves that many of today's "hot" artists can't compete with the older, legendary artists who are touring...the artists who have DECADES of hit songs and albums.Madonna and The Rolling Stones are selling out stadiums, something Beyonce can't seem to do.

if someone starts collaborating with their partner in music, you know it's the beginning of the end. Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton and Janet Jackson are good examples.

If true, I agree, that's a real bad move.

If I can recall, on the original press release for the tour only had two dates that were to have multiple dates one of them included Houston. Judging from the looks after the public sale that date may have another date added...

It's sorta embarassing to be a major star and unable to sellout multiple shows in the big cities. It looks like Beyonce is gonna be playing alot of one-nighters on this tour.If she had scheduled a few stadium shows, the shows would have been cancelled due to lack of sales.

Right, one nighters would've been better but see Mathew didn't train her how to do that. She's gonna be poop by the fifth one-nighter. LEGENDS can still do the big tours tho.

Beyonce should end up doing fine. She'll make a profit. But you have to wonder why so many of these artists sell so many albums but can't fill venues.

It's a puzzle. Those who can't sell albums anymore will sell out a concert ticket, those who can have problems filling in nosebleed sections.

Can we make this the last thread started on this guy's shitty gossip page?
I do think the economy is part of it along with Beyoncé's waning popularity as a singer (the album isn't catching fire and people seem to be getting bored and/or antsy beyond the first two big singles). Honestly, a terrible time to tour. People will pay good money to see older more established acts...but Beyoncé is not on the top of many lists. And I'm not a big Beyonce fan but seriously, but this guy makes catty articles about everyone and there is a good explanation for this.

Jay-Z?? She'd have more luck if she opened for someone else, honestly. I don't think this means Beyonce is failing to interest people. I think what we're seeing is recession sales. People are just being really selective when dealing with large purchases right now. If you shell out a hundred bucks to go see Prince, you know what you're getting. For these newer, less established, and more "product" style acts, it's a crap shoot. And people aren't gambling with their money right now. If the economy where doing much better, Beyonce might have a fighting chance. Though even then, Prince would still beat her in concert sales (think Musicology tour).

Even if the economy was good, the legends would still whup Beyonce in a tour contest.

Reality check. It's call demographics.
The folks going to see Madonna, Prince, Springsteen or whomever...wouldn't be going to see Beyonce. Different crowd in terms of age, resources, and taste in music. At that maybe she and her team should've have considered playing medium size venues and one nighters. Or, it maybe because she's so overexposed.... people assume they know what they'd see anyways.

She's touring too soon after her last one. I love her but I wouldn't go see her again 2 years later and with only one more album under her belt.
She needs to take a big break and make people and her fans miss her.

Why pay to see her live when you can watch a billion of her videos on youtube???
With the internet, you can see and know everything about your favorite artist up to the minute. It was not like that when the veterans were building their fanbases. It really was a treat for me to see my favorite artists live back in the day, as I was likely to only see them perform on TV a handful of times during the year. There was no internet for me to run to if I wanted to see a missed TV performance or if I wanted to watch a performance again. There are positives and negatives to the internet revolution as it relates to the music industry

Its a combination of things: a bad economy, a bit of oversaturation and TIMING. This is one of those weird in-between stages of the music industry, where tour sales are down all around (outside of those artists who have huge, long established fan bases) and the current generation of music listeners are accustomed to getting their entertainment for free. The industry as a whole is suffering.
