I am wondering how factual this is or if it is just a GOSSIP column.

I know that Sony screwed her before after the divorce. Sony did it to MJ, too. So who knows now.

Her singles are tanking because they just aren't as good as they used to be. I like their expression "faking hits" - as it seems to me that is what the US charts are all about nowadays.

Not only gossip, but this guy Daryl D has some kind of vendetta or something against her. All of his articles about her are very mean-spirited and negative--and he writes about her quite a bit. MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent

There's no conspiracy. Every once in a while, crap songs actually end up in the crapper.

I hope this is more junk gossip. I mean yeah she has a rep for being a spoiled little diva but come on, U got more #1 singles than Elvis and you gonna trip on why your last few have not gone top 10 especially when a couple of them suck? You can't have everything your way all of the gat dang time.
I will say I'm surprised Ill be luvn U didn't go #1 cuz its a hot collab with T.I. and the vid is hotter.

Hell yeah there is a conspiracy, her "eternally 12" alter ego is the one that is fuckin' everything up for her.
Call the exorcist and kill that bitch.

She's not doing anything to change herself, that's why its not going all that well for him.
If she actually did a jazz album or something different for once, she would get attention.

I think this is just made up gossip. Mariah is smart and knows that many artists, especially for veteran artists such as herself, have been suffering sales wise for the past couple of years. She made it to the top of the charts with a really dumb song called "Touch My Body". That's the type of non-sense people like to hear. Just like an even more stupid song called "Single Ladies" is probably going to end up being the most popular song of the year. The masses like listening to crappy music that has no redeeming qualities. I think she should keep that in mind while making her next album. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! You do have a point. It's a shame how artists have to "dumb down" their music just to get a hit song these days.

Right. If she released a song like "Hero" today, it would be a flop. The young people purchasing most of these records don't want to hear songs that are lyrically rich. I think Mimi needs to reach back to her roots and start doing more adult-oriented material. Forget about the rappers and hip-hop beats and just concentrate on making some great music. After hearing "The Wind" and listening to her scatting on the remix for "Anytime You Need A Friend", I have longed for her to experiment with some jazz-oriented material. Both she and Janet are in their 40s. They need to start acting like it. They can't look and sound like babies and young children any longer. Time to grow up! [Edited 4/26/09 9:02am] Well i have held out for Mariah to go back to the "Wind" and "Vanishing" but she is too busy singing "touch my body" i seriously dont think she will ever change, its funny how she was more mature when she was younger and now wants to appeal to the immature now that shes 40. At least Prince shook his "phase" rather quickly, but MC is stuck in the midtempo immature bullshit groove for over a decade now "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Now I hate the 'rap' or b.s. Keyshia Cole sounding blacd r&b slow jam tunes that any other female artist could sing. Mariah please stop feeding the KIDS! It's ok to be grown...look at how far Emancipation got you...you can do it again Whats wrong with tracks like Mine Again, Say Something? Joyride? Fly Like A Bird? Circles?....
