Dude, I'm not saying they wear masks at home. I think it's horrible for all celebrities' kids to have the freaking paps running, shouting and having flashes in their faces all the time. But, those kids are isolated except from a very few people and then dragged from place to place.

As for Nicole, I've read some posts where Lionel had said what a great dad MJ was...like he did such a good job with Nicole. Even she has said he was a mess and never around.

how do you know? do you have proof? evidence? There are a few lucky shots of the kids out having fun unmasked without michael. how do you know they don't go places with their millions of cousins did you know michael has like 20 something first cousins alone on his dad's side and i'm sure most of them have children too

in 20 years when little suri and maddox and zahara are to scared to leave the house and have deep psychological phobias of cameras. michaels kids will living their lives like normal people. you just wait we will see which celebrity gave their child the best childhood

oh please those kids have probably been going out in public with nannies and body guards without michael for years. and they have a million cousins who they can play with. i wouldn't be suprised if they go to the mall and movies all the time without michael you just don't know it cause people don't know what they look like so the paps aren't there.i think what he did with those kids is brilliant when there teens they canactually go places with friends or what ever and not have cameras in there face the whole time. i doubt suri or angelina jolies kids will ever be able to do that. And if you ask me a child growing up always having strangers shoving cameras in there faces and flashing lights at them will be more damaged than a child who wears a mask for a few minutes maybe 5 times a year.

you think kids being taken out with nannies and bodyguards without a parent is normal?

i guess at least the hardcore fanatics on the org don't disagree that wearing masks in public like that isn't normal, but does anyone honestly think that those kids are going to come out unaffected by all of this?

i don't think having a million cameras shoved in face when you're out with your parents is normal. seriously do people realize that these cute little celebrity kids will grow up one day and want normal lives. if little suri's life keeps going the way it is ( she on the cover of magazines more than her parents) can you imagine how her first date will be. the paps will snapping every minute of it. you want talk about tramatizing.

other celebrities kids are the ones who are in bubbles and if you remember thats how how the jacksons kids lives were , they couldn't leave the house without getting mobbed. and look how they turned out

Regarding MJ and his children, we really don't know how the kids actually live their lives. They probably don't wear masks all the time- and only in front of the paparazzi to protect their identities.

But at the same time- I'm sure they don't really get to live a normal life as well- they probably don't get to do what kids their age normally do freely. I'm sure MJ is a control-freak regarding what goes on in their lives.

But I think MJ gets scared way too much- look at Madonna, she's done okay with raising Lourdes and Rocco, without making them resort to masks and stuff. She's a huge star too.
[Edited 4/30/09 11:01am]

wearing masks in public doesn't protect their identities, it just makes them stand out more in public, it draws attention to them, that they otherwise wouldn't get if they just went out wearing normal clothes without masks

as i mentioned before, it just seems a publicity stunt on MJ's behalf, which is in effect causing psychological harm to his children

or is there another reason for the masks? is he abusing his children in the same way his father abused him? are they covering signs of physical abuse? personally i don't think so, but i think they are causing mental abuse, which may not show signs at the moment, but will erupt during adolesence. if you think of the troubles that drew barrymore, kelly and jack osbourne, nicole ritchie, etc etc had, then i think that's nothing compared to what these kids will go through. they will make everyone forget about river pheonix, thats for sure

whatever just admit you think mj is satan in human form he can't do anything right with you

They might just be wearing the mask whenever paparazzi are around. I've seen pictures where they don't wear masks, but they are not around MJ- they were walking around with that nanny.

EXACTLY! They will have no idea of how to have a normal relationship with others. Sheesh, they haven't even had a real home to grow up in.

Who are we to say they aren't well adjusted or will live unbalanced lives because they wear masks while out with their father when cameras are around?

For the love of God leave Michael and his kids alone! How he chooses to raise them is none of our concern. Some of you act like you are privy to every damn thing in this mans household! Its funny how some people are quick to point fingers but should anyone challenge their parenting skills they would'nt be so appreciative.

If Michael Jackson had his kis being paraded on every magazine cover and all over the darn place, you naysayers would still have a major problem with how he's raising them.

Just look at Lindsey Lohan for example- she looked like a perfectly normal kid when she was doing movies as a young kid- The Parent Trap. Now look at her- and how her life has turned out. She's doin drugs, and getting into trouble all the time.

-Britney Spears is another example. Another kid who's been in showbiz since she was young- the Mickey Mouse Club, Starsearch- just look at the troubles she's gone through.

-Even Jodie Sweetin of Full House battled drug problems a few years back. Another kid who looked perfectly normal in her younger years.

-Mary Kate-Olsen had her share of problems.

So it just proves that just cause you look like a perfectly happy kid when you're younger and have an upbringing that's deemed as "normal" by our society's standards, doesn't mean that person will be necessarily turn out fine when they grow up.

But all those children you have mentioned were child stars, similar to Michael Jackson. Michael seem normal when he was 11 too, he even came across relatively normal at 21 also, but now he is more screwed up than all those other child stars put together!

I don't think just putting on masks on children in public will screw them up-although I don't think it is necessary to put on masks on 11 yrs old. Didn't he say he will stop putting on scarves and masks on his kids anyway? If they do get screwed up it's probably be due to how they were obtained by Daddy, as well as hearing about their father's private life. If he is keeping them isolated from other people I think it is due to him not wanting them to hear about the many rumours about his private life. Lets face it as the children grow up they will tend to ask more questions and I think that scares Michael more than anything else.

You have to think about the fact that MJ is always stuck in some kind of a legal dispute often with anyone of his employees he works with, because those people have their own agendas to fulfill, don't have his best interests at heart.

If I was a star and I was always felt I was being taken advantage off, I would isolate myself from the rest of the world too.

I don't think it was his child stardom that caused him to be isolated (he was very open to people during the early years), it was the fame he got AFTER Thriller and seeing all those sharks and snakes that Mike was wary of many folks trying to take something from him. I imagine if I became a mega star after one smash album did so well it changed pop culture and everyone is focusing on your next move, why wouldn't you feel isolated?

Yeah I agree. People definitely were trying to cash in on his Thriller success and that's how his distrust towards folks started growing.

And his reclusivneess started increasing right after Thriller too. You look at his public appearances and he tends to look very uncomfortable when he does some kind of speech. The way his persona come across in public appearance post 1983- he seems very uneasy and uncomfortable.

Thriller was the best thing to happen to Michael, but it was the worst thing to happen to him at the same time.

With every Fuckin Michael jackson thread, it always goes off topic...like Mj is waiting for their advices to parent his kids, everybody should worry about theirs, I don't mind criticizing MJ but this subject has been discussed to death, the life of his children is not our business...Move on.

One of the main reasons why MJ covers his children faces is because his children recieved death threats...People should be more understanding about MJ's situation.

Thriller obviously played apart in screwing Michael up, but it can't just be Thriller that made Michael lose practically every aspect of who he is, to such an extent that every part of his life has become so ambigious.
It's a well know fact that many child stars, not all, do crack up as they grow into adulthood. Some come out of it and go on to lead successful and fulfilled lives and careers i.e. Drew Barrymore and some don't make it at all, like River Phoenix and then you have Michael Jackson who has just completely lost plot and I can't see him ever getting the plot back no matter how successful his comeback is!
