TORE
THE HELL UP That woman's voice is God incarnate This clip made me feel like I was on acid. SUPER AWARE. I could show this to someone as an illustration of why she's my fave and still they'd come away questioning 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Bit of trivia for ya. This track was recording for the "Stompin At the Savoy" release. Due to time constraints, it was left off. Later the track surfaced on the Night Shift Soundtrack. You remember that crazy movie with Michael Keaton and Henry (The Fonz) Winkler!! Love that movie.
I found it by accident, because i wanted the Al Jarreau track "Girls Know How." It a GREAT version! If you're lucky to find a vinyl copy on the $1 bins, PICK IT UP!! It's a collectors item for the Rufus/Chaka Fans!!

This was my JAM--still is. Detroit radio was all over this back in the day. Here's "skinny Chaka" with Rufus doing it all those years ago.

How exciting for the band to have such an amazing instrument to write songs around 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

It's a collectors item for the Rufus/Chaka Fans!! There were about 3 or 4 songs deleted from the live album. I was hoping David Nathan or someone would have released a complete recording of the "Savvoy" CD by now. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

There's no comparison. Beyonce has a massive sex appeal, but no vocal chops. Chaka, on the other hand, has a singing voice that even the angels would envy.

That's a joke, right? Beyonce is definately more comparable to Diana, being that she and Diana both have dabbled in a little of everything w/o being an expert at none. But, comparing Beyonce to Chaka??? Vocally, they are not even in the same universe. [Edited 4/25/09 8:05am] "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
