Marvelous Marvin Gaye - "Ego Tripping Out"

"I got the baddest cool/could never be the fool/the ladies wait to get down with me..."

Marvin's self-deprecating funk masterpiece.

Yeah he kept working at it two other times in 1980 for the "In Our Lifetime" album. Word was Marvin was pissed when Motown issued that song. He tried promoting it on "Dinah" but he didn't really bothered to lip it right, lol. Then again he was trying to get through the times during that period.

This song was released as a single in the fall of '79.I bet listeners were confused when the scheduled album 'Love Man' was cancelled.

The single only made the R&B charts too, I think it hit number 17 on there.
