I LOVE THIS TRACK, but that video is HORRIBLE!
Anita looks completly bored out of her mind, the clothes are awful, AND WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT DANCE MOVE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CHORUS??!! (when they have one hand up in the air and the hip swirl) Looks like my grandma dancing!! [Edited 4/10/09 9:09am]

that video was pretty horrible, I never saw it before, and I'll never watch it again. Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!

Good God..this song brings back vivid memories. They used to play this song alot at a club back in the early 80s here in L.A. called Odyssey Nightclub, probably one of the few dance clubs for Gay Teens. I remember the great dance music they used to play there , Shannon, Grandmaster Flash, Vanity 6, then at the end of the night, they would play Micheal Jackson's Thriller video on a big screen TV. I found a link, looks like Arsonists torched it back in 1985:

Damn. I love this song. Love it. Never, ever saw the video....hysterical. She's dressed like Dorothy Zbornak. Was Zoloft around then? They all look like they're on it.

Where did they shoot and produce this? At the local mall?
Is there an acapella version of this anywhere? I'll love 2 do a remix of this. [Edited 4/10/09 13:48pm]

If you know or have ever heard the story of the Pointer Sisters especially from '83 to the late 90's you know that Coke really WAS one hell of a drug.. [Edited 4/10/09 14:48pm]

Musically speaking, the '80's were fun as hell! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

This song is awesome. I first heard it while watching "Macron-1" and thought it was a robot singing. I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

When I first heard it, I thought it was Sylvester to be honest with you. For some odd reason. I knew of the Pointer Sisters by then tho and I was like 10 so I was like "who's that?" Then when they said "Pointer Sisters", I said, "wow..."

I think it was more recreational with the other two. Ruth and Anita knew their limits but June & Bonnie didn't.

I've had the seven inch single my whole life, but I've never seen the video until now.
It's a great slice of eighties cheese. They did an album back in 1990 called "Right Rhythm," which was mostly recorded at Paisley Park. Levi Seacer Jr is playing on it too. I'm listening to it now, it's typically '90s sounding.

That song is better than crack. I've played it about 10 times. The videos brilliant, looks like my Aunties had a few drinks, raided the back of their closets and put on a show in the lounge.
