New Vanessa Williams album June 2nd

Vanessa Williams - THE REAL THING (Concord) produced by Keith Thomas out June 2, 2009.

I have no idea if the music is standards, jazz or R&B.

She needs to do a dance CD. Leave that R&B/Jazz standards alone damn it!
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I heard the remix of Work to Do the other day and was thinking the same thing. But we may be in for a surprise... check this out:

The new record is said to be a mix of pop, jazz, r&b, latin and salsa and was produced by the likes of Babyface and Stargate.

“I had been wanting to do a Latin-flavoured album since I played a ballroom dancer in the (salsa) movie Dance With Me,” Williams says.

Well, we can totally see Babyface delivering the goods, considering he brought her fame in the 90s - but really, we want some of that fierceness she’s been channelling in Willie. Hopefully the Stargate team (known for Rihanna’s ‘Don’t Stop The Music’ and the Beyonce / Shakira duet ‘Beautiful Liar’) will inject some spice.

Now I'm really looking forward to the latin and salsa portion.

I don't care what type of music she does as long as it's mostly new material. Sounds like it will be. Great to have her back.

Mara

I like her studio albums. She has a great voice for AC. Loved Comfort Zone and The First 10 Years compilation. So I will be looking for this.
