EASILY the best song on 1986's Crash LP.....
cool cool
What has Human League done since?????
A more interesting take on this song would be Alexander O'Neal
cool cool

Maybe familiarity breds contempt cause I like both other singles "I Need Your Loving" and "Love Is All That Matters" more (haven't gotten the album but I want it). "Human" is a great track, though.
They've continued to record, more in their own electric pop sound.

Here are some of the singles since "Human"/"Crash".

It's their best song, and one of the best pop songs ever, in my opinion. I also love "Heart Like a Wheel" and "All I Ever Wanted", which have been posted here as well. biggrin

eek Nah, I think "Don't You Want Me" is just edged out by this gem:

Both of those songs are solid, but "Human" just soars.

Other favorites:

"Being Boiled" (1978 version)
"Seconds"
"The Things That Dreams Are Made of"
"Darkness"
"Open Your Heart"
"The Sound of the Crowd"
"Mirror Man"
"Together in Electric Dreams" (I know it's cheating!)

I go back and forth between this one and Don't You Want Me, both of which I think are examples of the best of 80s pop.

I loved the comeback hit, "Tell Me When" (posted above). Who would have thought Human League would have had a Top 40 hit in 1995! The nineties weren't as bad a I thought they were. Now this decade....Just shit! I thought that the variety of the singles chart would happen with the digital single revolution making things even....but nope!

yeah man in the mirror's final part sounds like it, but it reminds me more of the songs J&L did for Janet after it. Songs like Escapade, Come Back to Me, and even Madonna's Rain was inspired by the blueprint known as Human

I remember hearing this and Force MD's Love Is A House

they're really similar

I agree. This is around the time when the top pop records were
being spinned on R&b radio stations and some of the top R&b records
were being spinned on pop radio stations. Me and my friends always
dug this song.
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint
