Remember "White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five? I heard this 1983 song at a nightclub the other night and I went CRAZY! Damn,I had forgotten all about this jam!
"Get higher baby, get higher baby, get higher baby and don't ever come down...Freebase!!" I love the bass on this song.Anybody else have fond memories of this song, and other early rap songs from this awesome period?

I sorta remember this song (the original). I'm a lot more familiar with the remake that Duran Duran did in the mid 90s. It's rockin!

I bought their other big masterpiece "The Message" the week it came in 1982. I wish I owned the original 12 inch of this one as well. This song in a classic!!! Granmaster Flash And The Furious Five featuring Melle Mel were coming out with one hard hitting jam after another one. Later on in 1982, they released "Scorpio" which was a dance floor classic. We used to get seriously busy out on the floor to that one!!! That one is a lost classic..for sure!!!

White lines is a cut, but check out the original (instrumental version) by Liquid Liquid, called "Cavern". Its still played in many dance clubs.
After hearing this one, White Lines becomes rather mundane. ______________________________________
