BON JOVI live at Rumba festival,Melbouren,8th Dec '02....Joshy's review

*this review i wrote 4 the BonJoviDownUnder fan club,so some thing i say may make no sense 2 people, but here goes...*

well well well...i got back home in Adelaide about 2 hours ago...
lemme tell u how i felt!!:...
i cried so much ... David looked down at me & he saw me just smiling
& crying at the same time, tears of happiness & excitement...but
yeah,David looked down at me,& was just wrapped i reckon.Jon looked
at me once im sure he did.
I cried,i screamed,i sang,i sweated like mad so bad my clothes STANK
when i got back 2 the hotel last nite *puts peg on nose*
haha
the setlist was:
BOUNCE
YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME
EVERYDAY
IT'S MY LIFE
WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE
MISUNDERSTOOD
LIVIN' ON A PRAYER
I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD
BAD MEDICINE/SHOUT

all the songs i wanted 2 hear, just the way i wanted 2 hear them...
when jon started singing Bad Name i went insane,& when he started
singing Prayer slowly a capalla *weee got tooo* i just couldnt
believe it!
it was 2 good 2 b true, but it was true!
i was 4 people from the front row,between jon's mic stand &
richie, but with people getting close i was really only within a
metre of the barrier.
as 4 this thing about jon being pissed off with the crowd not being
in2 it,or pissed off at all 4 that matter,i saw him 4 the whole set
nothing but truly overwhelmed that everyone,& I MEAN...EVERONE!...
was singing their songs so loud & were going nuts,"BOUNCing" hehe...
when we all sang the 1st part of "Wanted.." the smile on his face
was so happy,instead of coming in on "...i'm a cowboy...on a steel
horse i ride" he just let us keep going til tico & the rest came in
& they were all stoked at the reaction they were getting for a gig
that was meant 2 be not only a "POP" show, but people so young, like a
really sweet girl right in front of me,she was only 16 & had come
down with 2 friends from Noosa in QLD JUST FOR BON JOVI!

oh & also as 4 the whole 'cos it was the 1st gig of the world tour
does that mean they wont come again' thing...i think after Europe
next yr they will come back & do a full BON JOVI TOUR here... it
was just the 1st decent length performance they have done in a
stadium i guess with this album,so they have announced this the
beginning of th etour.
They will b back,Joshy knows it :- )

& About Saturday nite,& also sunday,it was a pleasure 2 meet
every1,had fun dancing at HEAT & loved the breakdancers in the cage
above the stage (i'm a poet i didnt know it *teehee*)
fun trek 2 Colonial looking 4 sndcheck, but we got it the next
morning,which rocked hey!!!
Even dad sed that everyone was really nice & friendly (Lindsay,is my
nickname now RadioRemixBoy? LOL!!"
dad loved BonJovi too,he was way back near gate6,& sed everyone was
singing the songs, even the young kids knew the words & went nuts 4
them,& thats back near the main entrance!! thats wild i say.

OH & also...THE AFTERPARTY!...DID BON JOVI SHOW UP!???
U wont believe this, but my hotel was in Little Collins
Street,halfway between Swanson & Russel,so it was only a 30sec walk
from my hotel (victoria hotel) 2 the Portland, where the party was.
i wanted 2 go in there on the chance that Jovi would show up,but me
feet were KILLING ME! oh lawdy,it took me 15mins 2 walk from the pit
2 the Gate6 end cos i was doing little OzzyOsbourne steps cos they
were killin me,& at the same time i was smiling, just thinking "my
god did that just happen?" haha i just wanted 2 get 2 bed & rest &
think of it all.

so if anyone knows if they didnt show at the afterparty & put me
outta my misery, please do so :- ) (haha nah its cool,im fine, mum was
more upset cos i talked 2 her on the fone while in the cab & she
sed "u will regret it u really should go in there in case he shows
up" but my feet... haha yep u know the rest.

In all, while it was physically painful for most of the day, except
when Shaggy & P!NK were on cos they were brilliant,it was the
greatest day ever!! seriously,it may seem like not much 2 many of u
fans who have been on the Jovi trail for many years, cos i have only
been a fan for a couple of years, but their music hits me in such a
special way,i will never 4get last nite, the fans i met (all of u
from the club & also fans i met in the pit) & the Coke that quenched
my thirst as i made my way back 2 dad 2 get the hell outta Colonia;l
Stadium & the shoes off my feet :- )
i have so much more 2 say but i have no idea how 2 say it & also
cant be stuffed! *teehee*
love & peace 2 all, (especially everyone i met this weekend,it was a
beautiful experience)
Joshy :- )

PS: i got my Bruce tix this morning, damn they were selling fast!!!
it will sell out no doubt.
Oh,& also,much respect 2 P!NK...i got teary during her set,cos u
know she isnt fulla shit, she is singing from the heart,& i can
relate 2 alotta her songs,& the fact also that it rocked & was
emotional,it made it a very beautiful thing.Also Shaggy,who i didnt
think i would like, but hisband was great,& so much fun... yes
Melbourne girls r blessed wit da booty :- ) no doubt Shags' *nods*
