I was shocked! What is it that people c in this woman? I've heard/read a lot about her,and was xpecting WAY more than what I saw.

She's better than anything that whack-ass show spins off as "artistry". She's not the best live performer, but she's got chutzpah and at least is involved in her own material.

I'm sorry, but she was terrible. As I was watching this, I kept saying..."Is this what all the fuss is all about?" I thought I was watching an exercise video. Okay, so she writes for "some of the biggest names in music", doesn't mean much. The stuff that she has written for them, wasn't all that great either.

considering she has done probably more live performances than any other artist out there, an off night is to be expected.

don't forget, she does gigs almost every week!

I had never heard of her until the "Idol" performance. She was awful!!!! And she's at the top of the Billboard charts??? This just proves what this music industry has been reduced to.

I can't believe some people LIKE this chick! I really wanted to see her perform, too. I don't listen to the radio AT ALL, but saw her mentioned on Dr. Funkenberry and a few other places. So I thought: Hey, she's popular, maybe she's a kick-ass artist?

I was not prepared for what I witnessed. Are people deaf??? We must be in the Twilight Zone if this is topping the charts! Holy crap...and I thought Kanye West's performace was the worst I'd ever seen! Lady DooDoo made Kanye look like...well, Prince!

I hate Fruity GaGa almost as much as Bart, Wall and Supa hate Prince! (Well, not that much...)

The quality of "popular" music is tanking at an alarming rate...the way it's going, in five years, the only thing on the airwaves will be 15-minute-long trance and house instrumentals, and stupid (not clever) hip-hop tunes that all have "B*itch" or "Ho" in the title...

She struggled a bit with the vox when she started dancing...perhaps a case of bad monitoring or maybe just an off night.

But....I'ma have to bust this out again. After seeing this clip I agreed she had chops, probably more than just about anyone on the radio at the mo (not that there's currently a hell of a lot of quality talent there, but anyways....).
She's a compelling performer I'd like to check her out more just her and her piano. She's capable of a bit of magic when performing like that

I wasn't referring to gangsta rap in particular...just to mindless hip-hop with no lyrical cleverness or substance, regardless of subgenre.
