Mary Jane Girls or Vanity6? I know most people argue about this till the cows come home, but just for fun: which do you prefer? ~KiKi

Has to be the Vanity Experience featuring Brenda and Susan! I actually liked Apollonia 6 better though. I wonder if I'm the only one.

I liked both (V6/A6) them just about the same. [This message was edited Fri Dec 6 21:44:01 PST 2002 by lovebizzare] ~KiKi

I would have to pick the Mary Jane Girls.Let's face it,they can actually sing while the Vanity/Apollonia 6 girls had very limited talent and were only chosen for their looks.
But I still love the Vanity 6 album though. It's quirky, sexy and fun.The Apollonia 6 album was a mess. The first Mary Jane Girls album is a gem! I love the synth-heavy,New-Wave-styled production on several tracks ("Candy Man","Jealousy").This was a big departure for producer Rick James.Around 1983,he began to diversify his sound, adding more synths and less horns. His own album that year,'Cold Blooded',continued this approach.
