No it means re-sung or re-played elements of an existing composition.

"This song is an interpolation of this song..." lol

I from Houston and actually learned about Celly Cel and them Bay Area cats from my cousin in Louisiana. He used to have a lot of No Limit disc and No Limit started out in Cali. When I was younger, I thought have the cats from the Bay were from down south (Too $hort, E-40, B-Legit, JT, Richie Rich, ect.)

That's not a stretch to think that the Bay had ties 2 the south. We got similar rhyme styles and accents, and we like our sounds slow, loud and bangin ...

Yeah but it's under a different name. It's called "Harris and Jones Record Store" now

Do they still sell No Limit music there, or at least the old Bay Area No Limit by Lil Ric, EA-Ski and back when TRU was called The Real Untouchables?

They probably do. Hell, E-A-Ski is still around making music. I could probably find the old No Limit shit at used stores. P and his family don't have the best rep around the Bay these days lol

I don't know but I know that some people think it's kinda fucked up how he disconnected himself, but you can't blame him, since apparently, they chased him out of here lol

I think E A Ski dissed him awhile back. I gotta check

He didn't really disconnect himself, hell he still would rap with Cali rappers after No Limit moved to the NO like E-40, Brotha Lynch, B-Legit, San Quinn, ect. Hell, he even put out West Coast Bad Boyz II in 97' and another in 2001. He signed Steady Mobb'n and Snoop both from the West Coast.

I don't know, but I think P's intent was to always go back to his hometown of New Orleans. When he started No Limit in 1990, and it was smart to be on the West Coats than in the NO at that time if you wanna make it.

It's kinda different because the Bay Area scene is different from the whole west coast so people didn't really consider him working with B Legit, Lynch, and Snoop in that way. Dude was reppin' the Bay and claiming Richmond and then changed up.

E-40 even got called on for jumping on the whole "Hyphy" bandwagon lol Not to mention he was having a beef with Mac Dre some years before Mac Dre was murdered

I wouldn't say he changed, he was reppin' both really, NO and Bay Area. In 95 he was still Bay Area and put out the compilation Down South Hustlers. Down South Hustlers was No Limit's highest charting album up ntil that point higher than West Coast Bad Boyz and his 99 Ways 2 Die and TRU's True. Once he realized the South market was hittin, he decided to move NL back to the NO.

I think the only rappers with beef with P are his former No Limit labelmates (and Yuckmouth). EA-Ski, King George, Lil Ric, Milk Man and them other cats. Brotha Lynch Hung, B-Legit, JT, E-40 ect were still making tracks with No Limit after they moved to NO.

One reason, I don't think he and No Limit were getting a lot of radio airplay in the Bay. When his label started charting in 93' (not high, but still on the charts) I don't think he was gettin' spins (maybe you know, you from those parts?)

Then in 94, the compilation West Coast Bad Boyz stayed on the charts half the year peaking at #29. In 95, he put out another comp, Down South Hustlers and it charted much higher than WCBB at 13 and even made the pop charts (first for No Limit.) By mid 96' he had set up shop permanent in the NO. But he always repped Rich, he'd scream Richmond and Oakland and Cali through his tracks, and kept the West Coast Bad Boyz series going, doin 3 of them (Vol II was dedicated to 2Pac)

I wasn't living out here back then but from what I know, radio wasn't playing him alot, but he was doing big numbers.

That's one reason to leave, when he was still set up in the Bay and doin' southern releases, the southern releases did higher and I'm pretty sure he got more play.
