It's not darker - I do think it is a fan favorite, no? It is unusual Madonna, but still a hit - gotta open each disc with a big hit. And they're gonna leave off at least one key track from each big studio album (Borderline, Express Yourself, La Isla Bonita, Frozen, etc). so that you still have to buy Immaculate Collection or True Blue or Like A Prayer or Ray of Light LPs if you want a certain song.

Great news!! Im not worried about another Madonna collection, Im just pleased she's giving us another new release. Those that don't like it don't have to buy it. Too many of my fave artists have just gone completely quiet without any sort of release...thank God Prince and Madonna aren't among them!

Be great to have some new tracks on the album. Rare remixes and studio versions of live songs would be nice, but most hardcore fans will no doubt have them already. The only song I feel is mandatory is "Jump"...her greatest dance track since "Into the Groove".

Just had a thought! She's not likely to tour a new Greatest Hits album...but, I wonder if it will mean she changes the S&S Tour this summer to include more old classics??!!!

Here's hoping!

Madonna deserves to have a set that includes all of her singles. We need to have "Gambler" on CD, and not on some "La Isla Bonita" maxi-single! She can't neglect singles that weren't huge hits but are enduring fan favorites like "Oh Father" and "Bad Girl"!

I'm in the minority, but I like Dear Jessie and would love to see that on there.

"Dear Jessie" is in my Madonna top 10. biggrin

The Beast Within is a remix and did not appear on The Immaculate Collection.

"Justify My Love" is great, but it's the exception, I was more thinking among the lines of "Spotlight", "Rescue Me" or "One More Chance".

what about You'll See? I Want You?

Not loving those either. I find "You'll See" hugely overrated.

Sticky & Sweet is the tour of Hard Candy, all the posters and Billboards feature the albumcover, it was already said that the show would be the same production as last year.
Not to mention that the show features a lot of classics already and it has the perfect balance between old & new.

I find it amazing that since 1982 there was no year where she did not release a single anywhere in the world. One really can depend on her,

Oh, I know what you mean about the S&S Tour. We went to Wembley for it lasy year and we're going again to the O2 for the opening night of this year's leg. I dont expect there to be any changes to be honest, and as you said with all the posters and merchandise already printed the focus of the tour won't change, I agree.

However, it already leaked that Madonna is having a small number of new costumes made for this leg, which may suggest a possible change in the setlist, and while I dont expect the tour to change to promote a whole new album, I think a few changes to subtly highlight the forthcoming new greatest hits wouldnt be too out of place. There's room for improvement in the S&S Tour I think (lose Spanish Lesson, drop Ray of Light and Hung Up as she's played them live too often in the last few years)

Yes, there will be costume changes, but only those that are done by Arianne Phillips. Madonna sometimes changed the Old School outfit in 2008 already, so maybe she wasn't entirely satisfied with it.

I really can't see her dropping "Ray Of Light" or "Hung Up", they are some of her most recognizable hits and this time around she's visiting a lot of new countries.

By the way, I was at the Wembley show as well and I loved it! biggrin

While mr pessimistic side tells me she wont change anything - i just cant see her being happy changing nothing. Shes already said she changes her shows tour on tour to keep herself entertained, so i can quite easily see her changing the show. Maybe -at the very least - she'll perform one of the new tracks of the new GH album.

I find it interesting that she, her camp, the promoters, etc. aren't confident enough to have her play any markets in the U.S. on this upcoming 2nd leg of the tour. She could at least be hitting up some secondary cities she didn't hit last time...

I predict that there will be a few changes....nothing major, just a few different costumes, video images and re-adjustments.Obviously,the "Get Stupid" video may be removed, now that the election is over. While I think it would be a good idea to change the setlist a little,it's admirable that she is fully committed to 'Hard Candy' and this era.She seems very comfortable with this tour and the new songs.I like to see artists being fully committed to their work.

I agree, she seems to be really enjoying herself and proud of her work, something several fans cannot comprehend to, they were dead sure Madonna disliked the record because she didn't go to Oprah or Ellen to promote it. lol

About "Get Stupid": I think the video was already altered a bit when Obama won the election, but I agree that she should use a different video now, it's not like any of the video interludes are really connected to any parts of the show, so she could do a "Voices" video interlude.

nod I've always felt that touring is the ultimate way of promoting an album, and it's much more satisfying for the fans.I don't even get excited about television/talk show interviews anymore, where she sits there with a fake smile, bored out of her mind (lol).I'd rather see her out there touring because it's obviously something that she still enjoys doing.

That would be a good idea. Also, she should try to put together some type of video that uses "Dance 2Night" and/or "Incredible",two of my favorite Hard Candy songs that, unfortunately, got ignored on the first leg of this tour.

on the ICON messageboards, fans are talking about this latest rumor, taken from Madonna Fanzine...

RUMOR OF THE WEEK: CHANGES TO THE S&S TOUR:

"Future Lovers" replaces "Human Nature"
"Die Another Day" video interlude to be replaced by a new video for "Justify My Love" with footage from the W photo shoot
"Spanish Lesson" to be replaced by "Open Your Heart"
"Die Another Day" replaces "Hung Up"
there will be a few new costumes by Arrianne Philips

Oh yeah, those 2 tracks are criminally ignored as well. I even wished she'd replace "Heartbeat" with "Dance 2Night", that one would be so perfect after "Into The Groove"!

As for US dates, Madonna toured the US in the past decade very well (except the Northwestern area) while the EU tours have always been very limited, for example the RIT didn't even go eastern than Paris! The Sticky & Sweet Tour has a lot of EU countries that never had Madonna in 25 years!

Even though it would be a dream to have "Future Lovers" over "Human Nature", I think it's pure bs. "Open Your Heart" has already been rumoured since January, that started because Madonna Tribe revealed Madonna did rehearse an acoustic version of "Open Your Heart" for the show but it was replaced by the Gypsy song interlude.

"Die Another Day" on the electric guitar would be horrible, even if one doesn't like "Hung Up" rock version, it's still a great singalong, while "Die Another Day" is not.

hmmm No,she can't remove "Heartbeat"! That's one of the best songs on the album...a real fan favorite lol I consider it the new "Into The Groove".I also like the performance of it,with her and that one dancer. If "Dance2Night" was added to the setlist,it should replace "Human Nature" or "Music".

Yeah,Madonna fans in the US have nothing to complain about. She's toured here quite frequently in the last decade, hitting most of the major markets. It's just a shame that she continues to ignore Australia.

I like "Future Lovers" but I don't see the point in adding it to this tour. She should replace "Human Nature" with a surprising choice...maybe "Physical Attraction" or "Angel",songs that would make longtime fans lose their minds!

"Die Another Day" shouldn't be performed at all. It's not the type of song that works in a live setting.I like the choreography to the RIT version, but the song itself felt wildly out of place. You are right,it's not a great singalong song either.

As I've already stated, I'm no longer a fan of her work, but I would like to know, and I'm not trying to start any "online wars" or anything like that, but exactly what is it that you all see in this woman? Cuz I see nothin but some talentless hack who does nothing but try to shock her audience every time she releases something new. To me that whole act gets real old & incredibly annoying very quickly. That's just my honest opinion....seriously, what's the fascination with Madonna? I don't get it....explain it to me. Please.

hmmm maybe she's just not your cup of tea? I'm a fan of hers because she makes incredible dance/pop music and she puts on amazing concerts. It's not anymore complicated than that wink I think it's pointless to try to analyze why some artists have alot of fans.Millions of people simply enjoy their music and their performances. In Madonna's case, her success and longevity speaks for itself.
