Amused to Death is the only Waters album I don't have...I wasn't too impressed with Radio Kaos so I havent got round to getting Amused yet. I'll definitely check it out after your recommendation though. As for Pros and Cons, as someone mentioned it is alot like The Final Cut, but I really enjoyed that album to. I think it might have something to do with my enjoying the later Floyd work as opposed to the early stuff (anything pre-Echoes sounded to "Beatles" for me...a group who, whilst I fully acknowledge their talent, I never liked) I'm also a HUGE Beatles fan! I don't think early Floyd sounded like the Beatles at all. Floyd had a more psychedelic sound with the whole Syd Barrett thing. I am not a huge fan of the Syd Barrett Floyd. I'm more of a fan of the Meddle to The Wall.

I love Pink Floyd, but The Wall is not their best album. That goes to either Wish You Were Here, Dark Side Of The Moon, or Animals.

Its hard to explain really...I know they were massively pioneering, and I'd never dispute that. I think its just a combination of strange personal reasons that informed my opinion of them (the worst perhaps is the fact that when I was very young my mum insisted on played her greatest hits of Paul McCartney record to death. It was all his Wings crap and I hated it...alot of the Beatles output thus invokes similar feelings of dread as my mum gives Mull of Kintyre another spin!!) The Syd Barrett Floyd just leaves me scratching my head a bit..."I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like"...I've just never "got it" so to speak. I guess you had to be there! I agree on the Meddle to Wall era Floyd, but I also love the two Waters-less albums, mostly because Sir Dave is one of the coolest mothers ever to strap on a guitar, and because he can write some beautiful melodies; Coming Back To Life never fails to move me! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

HUGE Pink Floyd fan here! The Wall is the soundtrack of my youth! It was the first album I ever bought with my own $$ back in 1980. Saved up and went down to the jean shop (that also sold records) and bought it soley for loving Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2. I have to admit I was a bit shocked when I listened to it the first time...hey, what can I say, I was 10! But obviously it grew on me. I still own that original vinyl copy that has been played to DEATH. The movie was THE ultimate stoner flick when I was in high school, and at the time I thought it was brilliant. when i did finally did watch it straight I thought it sucked, ha ha ha.
Over the years, Wish You Were Here has become my fave Floyd album. But most of their stuff is some of my favorite music I own. Never did see them live though...
