Did you see the documentary following The Wall-THE PINK FLOYD STORY: WHICH ONE'S PINK? It was pretty good. There is such a grudge between Roger and Dave, I swear. I'm glad they did one last concert at Live 8 before Richard Wright passed. I also am a huge Floyd fan...!

Big fan of the Floyd here...bummed that I'll never get to see the band live. Would have loved to have been there at Live8. There's just way too much history for Dave and Roger to be together again. On stage, maybe, but the off stage and don't think they'd be able to be around each other long enough for a tour or new album; I'd lov to be proved wrong though! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Never really got into 'The Wall'(the album not the film).
As a teen I slowly made my way through Floyd's albums up to Animals, loving them all ('Obscured by Clouds'>). By the time I got to the wall, I was all excited given the reputation it had, but was left decidedly underwhelmed. Sure it's got some great songs. But it just stinks of 'reaching'. I think the other boys should have told Roger to pull his head in on that one. Indulgent to the extreme.

I think the word "Classic" gets overused and bandied around way too casually BUT surely The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon are bona fide CLASSICS?
Great band. Bought their last album, The Division Bell, recently and was surprised by how enjoyable it was. Dave Gilmour is a master of the guitar - and a prime example if ever there was one of the principle "Less is more". Oh and sorry to gloat but I DID see them at Live 8. This is not an exit

As a teen I was introduced to Pink Floyd by The Wall (the album) and absolutely thought it was fantastic! It's what made me want to search out more of their material. Darkside of the Moon was next and I loved that one too! Since then I filled in all the gaps and must say that my third and fourth favorite are Wish You Were Here and Meddle!

Definite lover of the Floyd - and for a little while a couple years ago, I could really relate with the main character in the film, but not for the drug usage...The Wall, Dark Side, Animals, Momentary Lapse Of Reason, Obscured by Clouds, etc...too bad they only have 13 albums.

For me, with Floyd, it's always been about 'Wish You Were Here'. Like most of my favourite albums, it's got a quality, that can't be put into words, which makes it stand out. Wish I could be a little more articulate about it. It's just one of those albums. Everyone's got them.

Pink Floyd are remarably unique band, I think they're brilliant. The wall is a multi layered album -excellent. As for the movie, I don't like it all. It's comparable to the Who's Tommy, great album but rubbish movie.

That was my introduction to the album but my favorite on the album has always been 'Comfortably Numb.' I'd agree with that. Comfortable Numb is an epic song, makes purple rain sound like pop song. I was never sure about 'we don't need no education' until I seen it performed live, E=mc2. Ah! We don't need no education!

Wish You Were Here musically has a spirit all of it's own. It is a beautiful, adventurous album all the way through. It's hard to put into words because you could write a book on what's so good about it. Definite favorite!

What do you all think of Roger Waters' solol albums?? I thought The Pros and Cons of Hitchiking was brilliant...not quite The Wall, but damn fine for a concept album; the track Sexual Revolution is brilliant! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Though it it's anything like The Final Cut... I know what your saying here. It tends to be the case with a lot of artists who are part of a successful band that their solo stuff is sub standard BUT David Gilmour's 'On an Island' is a superb album. The live performance of that material- live at Gdansk and also the Royal Albert Hall is 5 star material.

Though it it's anything like The Final Cut... It's exactly like The Final Cut, give or take. Slightly better. The best way to hear the album is on the bootlegs from the tour. There are a few high quality recordings around. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Now why this was not included in the movie I'll never understand as it is one of the most defining song moments of The Wall album!

Amused to Death is the only Waters album I don't have...I wasn't too impressed with Radio Kaos so I havent got round to getting Amused yet. I'll definately check it out after your recommendation though. As for Pros and Cons, as someone mentioned it is alot like The Final Cut, but I really enjoyed that album to. I think it might have something to do with my enjoying the later Floyd work as opposed to the early stuff (anything pre-Echoes sounded to "Beatles" for me...a group who, whilst I fully acknowledge their talent, I never liked) www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!
