^^I disagree.."Rock Your Body" is a very good song, with a retro 'Off The Wall' vibe. It's much better than the bland "You Rock My World" boxed

I think "Like I Love You" can almost compare to "You Rock My World" but I seriously do not understand the deal with "Rock your Body", it is the definition of bland. I also think Michaels voice might be what makes "You Rock My World" such a great song to me. I really can't stand most of Michaels vocals on Invincible but on that song he really brings it.

To be honest, I can't really be mad MJ dumped those songs. There's too many MJ-isms in there. And it was very much carbon copies. I mean what's a 43-year-old man gonna be talking about "I'm a rock your body, dance with me..." lol

Well let's face it,many of these artists (Madonna,Mariah,Janet, etc) aren't exactly doing songs that reflect their age;...lol....'Invincible' already has some songs ("Heartbreaker","2000 Watts") that sound like N'Sync rejects.I don't think it would have been that crazy for MJ to sing "Rock Your Body"...lol....

My Girl (The Miracles to The Temptations)
I Heard It Through the Grapevine (The Miracles/Isleys to Marvin Gaye/Gladys Knight)
I Want You (Leon Ware to Marvin Gaye)
I Want You Back (Gladys Knight to The Jackson 5)
Until You Come Back to Me (Gladys Knight to Aretha Franklin)
Nobody's Supposed To Be Here (Patti LaBelle to Deborah Cox)
All The Man I Need (Patti LaBelle to Whitney Houston)
I'm Ready for Love (The Supremes to Martha and the Vandellas)
Where Did Our Love Go (The Marvelettes/Velvelettes to The Supremes)
War (The Temptations to Edwin Starr)
If I Can't Have You (The Bee Gees to Yvonne Elliman)

----
That's all that popped out of my head besides those already mentioned. I think Patti turned down two or three more songs too but I'm not sure what...

How could anyone reject All the Man that I Need. That´s such a great song.

As for the song "why" ,Mj's version still exist,it was supposed to be on the history album tracklist, he made a mistake and let his nephews to listen to the track, they loved it so much and asked for it,and Mj gave it to them...its one of few songs written with babyface during the "history" sessions,I bet Mj's version is better

I love Why so much. I´d love to hear MJ´s version, cause 3T vocals aren´t strong enough for me on that track. Listening to it, I am always waiting for the chorus to come to hear MJ´s voice singing it the way only Mike can sing it.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Toni Braxton: "Love Should've Brought You Home Last Night" - Anita Baker turned it down (as well as "Give U My Heart").

This song was originally recorded by Sister Sledge in 1982 but it bombed as a single.Sometimes, the failure of a song makes other artists skeptical about recording it.They have to be "talked" into doing it.

I've never heard 90% of those songs.

Me either, and don't want to. The only thing I ever heard my Rihanna was "Umbrella" and that was in passing, and I hated it as much as I do her big ass forehead.(which should never be exposed - she needs bangs forever).

More proof that The Jets suck. "Neon Telephone" is one of the best Prince songs of any era. Seriously.

I think that song is mediocre boxed Prince had much stronger songs during that period (1986/87) that he could have offered to them.

fishslap I haven't heard the 3 O'clock version, but the Prince version is insanely good- one of his best 3 outtakes!

On Jody Watley's 1987 hit "Still A Thrill",she sings in a very deep,Grace Jones-like voice and there's a reason for that: the song was originally intended for Grace Jones! When Jody got her hands on the track, she decided to sing it the way that Grace would have.

Love Grace. That would have been a cool one from her pop days.

and in 1987,she needed a hot single."Still A Thrill" would have been perfect for her.

I can totally hear Grace Jones singing it! Would have been even more awesome than it is!

Nah. I love Grace too, but that song was all Jody's.
