Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. How long has "Baby (I'm Gonna Love You") song been on U-tube? I have about 5 (four now) songs over I've been obsessing about over the years ...I could recall a few bars and never knew title.I love this song! biggrin

The big drum beat reminds me of Van McCoy.This sounds like a Van McCoy production, but it isn't.

This particular clip has been on Youtube since July 2008.I heard this song for the first time a weeks ago! I recently got a Phyllis Hyman compilation that contains some of her rare songs (it also includes her 1975 disco single "Leavin The Good Life Behind").Both of those songs were recorded in early '75,but initially, the label didn't do anything with "Baby (Let Me Love You)" until Phyllis scored a few hits with her remake of "Betcha By Golly Wow" and "We Both Need Each Other" from the Norman Connors album. They quickly released "Baby..." but it bombed as a single, reaching only #76 on the R&B charts as 1976 came to a close.

No matter...it's a great song music

Thanks Soul I'm gonna have to check those clips out too. There is so much on the Tube, it's a blessing others can catch what you don't see or some how miss. There nothing like hearing an artist/singer discography chronologically,it gives you a perspective of how they evolved/developed/grew as an artist. With the exception of the brilliant Sarah Vaughan, I've never hear anyone like Ms.Hyman's sing so effortlessly. Exceptionally sing the low, low, low notes. which is amazing for any women to do.
