Hmm... committing to do Thriller 25! Committing to do the O2 shows!? Both huge sucesses! Otherwise he wasn't really interested in his profession in this century!

Well patience paid off - well kinda. After not getting a code - then getting one today I logged on, tried to get tickets - sold out - sold out - sold out - then hit at the right time i guess and got floor seats section C for a show on February 3.

wow! good for you- you buy them?

Yeah I snagged them quick smart - no hesitation.

Being the Feb concerts it might mean a bit of a revamped show, or at least re-energised MJ. But travelling from Australia to see him I just hope the concerts don't get cancelled.

As for 40+ shows - there are positives and negatives - positive that it will mean a flood of available tickets and thus scalpers and profiteers margins will be trimmed back. The negative - will there be less of a chance of him doing residency gigs in other parts of the world, US, Australia (bias thought I know).

Like all things about these concerts, time will tell.

As for the setlist - I think it's some person in the Sun filling out copy space. It is highly unlikely MJ would open with Billie Jean - as great a song as it is, it's not a show opener. And girlfriend and one day in your life? oh come on.

just phoned them up and apparently its 4 tickets for all the concerts so no one can buy more than 4 tickets overall

so the most fans can go to is 4 shows out of 50 this is f**kin messed up dont they realise its the fans who see more than one show who will make it sell out
stfu

too right - that's a dumbass decision by AEG. I was hoping to go to at least two shows, with my gf, so that's four tickets. I was also going to by ticks for my mates who are incompetent at simple matters like buying concert tickets online, but now I cannot get all the tickets I needed to get.... neutral

Hmm... I don't know... at first I thought that too.. but thinking about it... a great Intro, a pitch black arena suddenly, Michael appearing in the center of the stage under the Billie Jean spot to the beats of Billie Jean... I think that would be a interesting choice for an opener! Prince also started his first O2 gig with Purple rain, which hardly is a show opener and it worked great!

But overall of course that posted set list is bogus!

In a way, if some shows do get cancelled, I wouldn't be suprised. Not because Michael can't keep up, but because shit happens sometimes.

Exactly... but then the naysayers will swoop in saying they knew it all along.... but with doing 30 shows in 3 months it's bound to happen with any artist that 1 or 2 shows will get postponed... Tina Turner also just had to postpone a concert!

Absolutely, when I heard 50 dates, I was shocked. For the fans, it's about "This is the guy we've supported, we are going to be there" lol

Alot of fans are just happy he's moving on with his life

hehe!
i got my tickets!

MJ should just fucking move over here to London and become permanent!

Why waste time in the US when he can make plenty of money here in the UK, where more people appreciate him!

Still, can't wait for the opening show, I wonder what songs he is going to do.

Let's just hope he does something new this time, and something raw!

prince did 21 nights,

but MJ comes and tears London a new ass hole with 50!!

I registerd the day the site went up with the press conference, and missed out on a passcode for the first round, but scored one for the second round and grabbed 2 tickets for 2010 - seems so far away, lol.

Tomorrow - well with 40+ shows on sale atleast there might be a better chance of getting through as activity will be spread across dates.

RECORD-BREAKING 45 SHOWS SELL OUT PRESALE ALLOCATION!

FINAL 5 SHOWS AVAILABLE FOR ON SALE 7AM [GMT] FRIDAY!

The ticket allotment for the presale has been sold. Michael Jackson has added five more concerts to his historic return to the stage at London’s O2 Arena, making this a half-century of shows. Tickets are available across all 50 shows for the general sale at 7am, Friday 13th March 2009.

Records have tumbled:
The biggest audience ever to see an artist in one city.
The most amount of people to attend a series of arena shows.
The fastest ticket sales in history.
By the end of the 50 concerts, 1 million fans will have witnessed one of the greatest musical events in history. The figures speak for themselves - 360,000 tickets sold in 18 hours during the pre sale so far, that is 20,000 tickets per hour, 33 tickets per minute!

Michael is said to be ‘thrilled’ by the response and wanted as many fans to share the experience with him as possible. This will be the last chance to see the King of Pop in London, this really is it!

we can try and be a positive as possible but we all know that at some point- Mike is gonna get the flu, or dehydration, or high blood pressure, or his back injury is gonna act up, or his lungs will collaspes and he'll need oxygen- something is going to happen and at least 3-7 shows will be cancelled. Mark my words and I pray to God that if I do change my mind and fly across the pond- it's not on one of those days...

so all of those who take stuff like that hard -(ie- those of us who lost money on Janet)- please be prepared and don't fly off the handle if you have to walk back out of the stadium without seeing the show.

GET YOURSELVES PREPARED NOW- so that you can deal with it

50 Shows at the O2???? eek

Why not do shows in other places as well?

Why just London of all places.

This is pathetic. Who the hell does 50 shows in the same venue- I would get bored as hell after awhile if I had to 50 shows in London.

If I was MJ, I would diversify my show locations, so everyone get a bit of the fun.

Yeah, he's such a good business man...ask all the people he owes money to about that.

As for this O2 deal being a success, how about you wait until he actually completes some shows before claiming that?

The only reason I'd hope he made any money off this thing is so he can pay back some of that debt and leave enough for the massive amounts of therapy those poor kids are going to need. After he kicks the bucket, they'll have NO idea of how to live in the real world since all they've known is isolation, masks & nannies.

Oh please, get over yourself. You have no idea what kind of state he's in. For all we know he could of been preparing for this for the past 3 years. I'm not saying for sure he will pull this off, but it's nowhere near impossible. You have no idea what kind of show this is going to be anyway. He might just sit and do some songs instead of dancing. The point is who knows. And really I don't care. I just want to see and hear the man once in my life.
