The Japanese ones were seated and were fine, but that's the Japanese.

See and that's funny, because when they're not in a show like that, they can be some crazyass mofo's! lol

After one of the Studio54 shows, a few of us were still sitting upstairs in the now open VIP area. Prince was walking around greeting people when all of a sudden, a couple of Japanese guys starting screaming PRINCE PRIIIIINCE and running towards him (small area). So, of course his security then closed him in and went right to the elevator to escape. They were so excited I thought they'd pee themselves, but they ruined a cool thing by acting like jerks.

Tell ya what, how about a little friendly wager? If he does the minimum 10 shows where he actually SINGS ALL THE SONGS (no lip-syncing, back tracks ok if live mic & you can tell he's singing), I'll have to come on here and post some "you were right, eat my words, etc..". If he doesn't, then vice versa for you.

Hell, if he even shows up for at least 5 of the first 10 shows, I'll come post the little bowing emoti! lol

fine, you can mark it

Give us those kick ass tunes, with the kick ass live band - some greg, some sugerfoot, some damn smokin' david williams, and beg pretty please a live horn section, and most of all (on top of that band!) his atonishing pipes.

Sadly he died on March 6th! I really was hoping to see the guy with Michael in London! R.I.P. David Williams

MADGE [and MJ's most of all] GUITARIST'S GRIM DEATH
March 7, 2009 --

THE unsung hero behind Madonna and Michael Jackson died yesterday morning, and the grieving family of David Williams is furious over the disrespect shown to him by the music community and by what they say was neglect by the hospital where he spent his last days.

Williams, who was 58, was the guitarist for the pop superstars and toured with both of them as well as Jessica Simpson, Chaka Khan, Lionel Richie and Van Halen for more than three decades, succumbed to complications from high blood pressure.

Williams collapsed and was taken to Sentara Hospital in Hampton, Va. where he slipped into a coma last week. While he lay dying in ICU, his family was urged to "pull the plug because he had no medical insurance," a family friend said. "The hospital was trying to force them to pull the plug. This man was a Vietnam veteran and gave his life to music and still had no benefits."

Jackson has announced a new tour and Madonna is still a top-grossing act. "But David, who supported them onstage all those years, has nothing," said the friend. "[His ex-wife] Deborah just wanted him to have some integrity, and instead the hospital was despicable at best over his lack of insurance."

On Thursday, the evening before Williams died, Deborah, who had four daughters with him, wrote us: "During this very difficult time where our focus should be on the nurturing and care of David, we are battling with hospital officials just to get and maintain the care he deserves, a hospital whose main interest lies in his ability to pay for his care." David, like many industry veterans, lived without adequate health insurance.

A music industry insider said, "What about NARAS [National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences]? What about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? They collect huge amounts of money every year to help musicians in David's situation - and they throw themselves parties instead. It's disgusting."

A rep for Sentara said she'd look into the situation but didn't return calls.

Hicks: Michael Jackson's back -- mystifying as ever

By Tony Hicks
Contra Costa Times
Posted: 03/09/2009 11:21:15 AM PDT
Updated: 03/09/2009 11:21:16 AM PDT

I watched a replay of the Michael Jackson news conference from last week when he announced he'll play 10 shows in London this summer. And I wanted to make sure I captured my thoughts. Because seeing Michael Jackson somewhere without a lawyer or hooded children is a big deal these days. Plus, as you know, Michael Jackson is very important to me. I wouldn't have become a professional dancer, specializing in choreographed street-fight recreations, if not for the King of Pop.
The clip I saw was about four minutes and 40 seconds long, and terribly confusing. Here's a recap:

0:47: Michael walks in wearing a shirt Michael Madsen might wear to a Mexican restaurant on a Friday night. Except Michael has military insignia on his. Looks like the king has been demoted to the Sgt. of Pop.

1:11: Michael pumps his fist. The camera pans to the crowd, where an enthusiastic man with a giant head moans Michael's name. We don't have a lot to go on at this point, but I'm fairly certain this man is an escaped criminal maniac. Either that or I saw him working at the corn dog hut at the mall.

At 1:29: Michael says "Thank you all" clearly and strongly. His voice is a bit deeper than usual. He looks pretty good. He hasn't once had to bend over and pick up his face. I sense something amiss. We may have an impostor on our hands. I start to wonder if anyone knows where LaToya is "...

1:40: Michael inexplicably starts chanting, "This is it." Then he pumps his fist some more. People go crazy. I get confused. He says these London concerts will be his last. People still cheer. Now I'm really confused.

2:19: Suddenly it hits me. That's Johnny Depp up there, amusing himself. Either that or Liza Minnelli. Then I remember that can't be true. Liza Minnelli was with me Thursday.

2:21: I look at that long, stringy purple-black head of hair and ask myself why any man who could have an Afro would choose not to? Outside of Art Garfunkel. I loudly start singing "My Little Town," and forget what I'm doing.

2:33: Michael clutches his chest as if to say "thank you." Either that or he's faking a heart attack for attention. This is ridiculous. Where's Tito to lend some sense to all this?

2:56: Michael says he'll perform all the songs his fans want to hear. I quickly wonder if that means only his songs, or if I could request "My Little Town."

3:20: The man with the giant head starts chanting something that sounds like "Au Jus." Michael's jacket apparently has convinced the poor guy he's a waiter.

3:25: Michal thrusts his right hand in the air "... and gives the Vulcan salute. Again, I have no explanation.

3:44: Michael says "see you in July," and throws both arms over his head in a stunning tribute to Richard Nixon. Then he turns around, marches toward the back curtain, spins back around, and again thrusts a fist toward the crowd. I don't know why, but I start to weep uncontrollably.

4:00: Michael leaves the stage. The crowd wants more. I want to know what just happened.

I'll guess I'll have to wait until July.

Does anyoen know what the seating arrangement will be - I'm assuming it will be with the stage at one end, rather than in the centre like Prince had.
If so, which seating areas would people recommend? I'm thinking FLoor is best, then lower tier side, then lower tier end, and lastly upper tier miles from anything :p
