The Girls (Cymone's proteges) : rare track + bio-clip (by drummer BamBam) Wasn't shure in which forumsection i should post this, because the ladies were not direct proteges of Prince, but Andre's own Vanity 6, lol. The clips are tight and funny ... BamBam is a trip ! Watch them while ya can, cuz they were offline for awhile and maybe soon gone again. http://citinite.wordpress...re-cymone/

S-E-S-E-X was a bad ass cut! Its a shame they didn't take off. At the time, everything coming out of MN had to have direct PRINCE ties or people weren't interested.

I spoke to Bam-Bam via youtube and e-mail recently, very cool and introspective guy.
The Girls are a lost, Minneapolis gem. Girl Talk is a slammin' long player from beginning to end (standouts: Girl Talk, S-E-S-E-X, Don't Waste My Time, Someone Sholda Told Me)!

I can also hear the vibe of Vanity 6 (Prince's) AND Ta Mara & The Seen (Jesse Johnson's).

THis is the best song on the album and to hear an unreleased version is amazing! They have live drums. It seems like the only thing they kept was the vocal arrangement and the synths but everything else is different. My neighbor schooled me on them last summer and their association with Andre's brother as the manager & the fight with CBS records and the way they used to be before they were "The Girls" and afterwards. Loong story. We must have talked about the drama for an hour! Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I had my doubts going in, but that shit is SLAMMING! Also, it sounds more like a track from '86 rather than '83 "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
