EWF to perform for Obama Feb 22, 2009 http://www.etonline.com/n...index.html
President Obama and the first lady have invited a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band to perform at the White House. Earth Wind & Fire -- famous for hit tunes such as "Shining Star" and "September" -- will jam at the first family's home on Feb. 22 after the Governor's Dinner, an event hosted by the Obamas. The president once told Rolling Stone magazine that Earth Wind & Fire was one of his favorite bands. This summer, the group embarks on a national concert tour with fellow classic-rockers Chicago.

in other EW&F news, they're getting ready to re-release their 2003 album 'The Promise' on February 24th:
Unfortunately, the only thing "new" about this release is the artwork. The tracklist is the same, there are no new bonus tracks or anything.I can't see a reason to go out and buy it.

You and me both. *Especially* after seeing them live in the late 70's.
