[Edited 2/16/09 19:36pm] We have had this discussion here before. As a matter of fact it was describing Janet's show. It was definitely a fact that the show catered to the gay audience. There were lots of elements incorporated into the show. Besides, I don't think there was a straight person on the stage (other than Janet...and she is questionable at times). 
BTW, I know people that say Richard Pryor, Kat Williams, Earthquake, etc. are "too black", just like I know people that say "Seinfeld", "Friends", and "Dawson's Creek" are too white. Hell, I know people that say Gary Owen is too black...and he's white. So, its all an opinion...nothing else. I didn't mean for it to come across as insulting. I have many close friends that are gay and several family members. I love gay people. Like Prince said, "I study the bible with my gay friends".

Not at all. It surely wasn't as good as the "Janet" or "Velvet Rope" tours either. My favorite so far has been the "Janet" show. It was a well put together show. When you look at clips from that show, you can see what I'm talking about. The routines were tighter, the dancers were better and the actual staging of all of the previous shows were 10x better than the last tour. During the last tour, Janet tends to have gotten lost among the group at times. It's as if she had to hurry to one side of the stage or another in order to stand out as the star. In her previous shows, the choreography and staging were setup for Janet to look like the star. Everything from the hair to the costumes made Janet stand out during the previous tours. They tried with the mohawk, but it didn't work when you had other people on stage that looked just as "wild" as she did. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I think on awhole Gil did much better job on staging this show than All 4 U. Velvet Rope was just a complete rehash of the janet tour but with less colorful costumes and a couple of new songs.
