Will is cool. I dig him a hell of a lot better in action movies though.
As a rapper he was what he was. He was cool as a part of jazzy jeff and the fresh prince but was just average as a solo act. I could never hate on the dude. His show fresh prince is still hilaious. Don't laugh at my funk

Yeah, with his last movie I think he was trying too hard to get an oscar. I didn't see Seven Pounds but heard it was a real tear jerker. I saw it on bootleg at the hair salon and was MAD the whole time. He always has that "I'm bout to cry" look on his face with the quivering bottom lip.

LOL I've thought the exact opposite. To me he's always angry, yelling, and running in all of his latest films. Like Carl Weathers. Aside from Hancock, I think most of his recent films featured him looking like he was in some deep emotional turmoil.

I was talking about the scenes in all of his movies where he's angry, hollering, running, or doing all three at the same time. He had me boo hooing in Pursuit of Happyness and I Am Legend altho I really hate that film. Talk about depressing.
Well he's returning to action with Hancock 2 and a possible I Am Legend prequel. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

The shower scene was great but there was just too much Will in that one. He's a cop in the future and wearing a skully to the side, a long leather coat and two earrings? C'mon. I wish he could have been a little more rugged and unsure of himself in that role. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Not to mention the Chuck Taylors. Yeah, cuz that's what all cops wear on the job. [Edited 2/10/09 20:33pm]

There was nothing he could do with I Am Legend. It's just a depressing story all the way around and I read the novel so I knew what i was getting into. Still haven't seen 7 Pounds. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

DiamondGlove said: namepeace said: Shouldn't we be celebrating that a actor of color occupies this position?
That's just great. People always bringing color into everything. People protest against racism and color lines, yet the same people throw it in there to begin with. Why would it matter if he's black? I should start being like that too. Isn't it great that the richest man in the world is white? Must you really be schooled? If you sat back and thought about it, you'd see the reason for celebration is quite the opposite. The fact that the top American actor in Hollywood is a person of color means that, in a country where whites are still the majority, perhaps progress is being made in different ways. Of course, Will Smith isn't the first person of color to rule the box office roost, but he is able to star in any number of different vehicles -- superhero movies, romantic comedies, dramas -- and bring in dollars. So the issue isn't provincial pride, it's American pride. His success suggests an expanding of boundaries. I fail to see how that's a bad thing, unless one is just swinging wildly to feel the breeze.
