WRIGLEY GUM SUSPENDS CHRIS’ DOUBLEMINT AD SPOT

Monday, February 9, 2009
http://concreteloop.com/2...er-raymond

After the media blitz that ensued after he was charged with one count felony criminal threats on Sunday night, Chris Brown, 19, has another thing to worry about. His endorsement deals.

Wrigley gum has now suspended all advertisements featuring the R&B star, including the popular commercial that even played during the telecast of the Grammy Awards.

A company spokesperson tells Us Weekly:

“Wrigley is concerned by the serious allegations made against Chris Brown. We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen. However, we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown and any related marketing communications until the matter is resolved.”

Our good friends over at WOOOHA.COM posted that Brown also endorses a dance video game called U-Dance and has a partnership with the New Era hat company. Not to mention, a rising acting career. As we all know, this isn’t going to turn out pretty.

Isn't it because it's the stereotypical fashion choice of domestic abusers?

^^^^ I see...

That's crazy. But yeah I've seen movies with stereotypical "tough men" beating their girlfriends/wives wearing it.

Still, they need to cut that shit out. lol I doubt Chris was even wearing one. If he was, he definitely needs to get bitch-slapped by tank-top lovers everywhere. lol

I've heard it actually argued that they should be called 'domestic abuser beaters' since it's not just wives that get beat down those wearing them. lol

Rihanna was probably wearing one, and Chris Brown had to use his nails to get out of it.

No it ain't. The public doesn't care what people are like in real life. Right now there is some dumb bitch whispering in Chris Brown's ear that Rihanna got what was coming to her.

Coome on now. If folks still buy R Kelly's music, they are still going to buy Chris Brown's.

This is what I wonder. Fans have stuck by their favorites for worse and repeated behavior. I'm not sure this will derail his career or is it different because it was against someone we 'know' and may (or may not) feel connected to as opposed to someone anonymous? Part of me thinks Chris Brown fans, especially the young girls who follow his every move and probably hated the fact that he had a girlfriend anyway, will support him or at least feel he deserves a second chance.

I think this will be different since it's towards another artist, not just common folk.

The saddest part is that he is sooo young. To be 19 and beating up on women tells me that he probably has some domestic abuse in his background.
