Ida is from Norway, but now lives in Sweden. She sounds a lot like Björk.

I want to check out all three of these albums. When I heard the opening notes to "Space and The Woods", I was like eek That's an awesome groove! dancing jig

I listened to two more Late of The Pier songs on youtube. Both were very rhythmic like "Space and The Woods". They remind me a little of MGMT.

ooh, well I like MGMT, despite the singer's voice being a tad irritating so that sounds promising!

I just found out Ida was the opening act for the Glasvegas show tonight and again on Monday. Too bad I don't like Glasvegas.

I love the songs I've heard. It's modern dream pop. cloud9 When watching the video, I was wondering how the lead singer got rid of her bangs for the alternate takes. Then I read the band bio that said the singers are twin sisters. smile

haha, yeah there is a tiny picture of them on this zune marketplace page, but I couldn't tell they were twins.

I love this whole album (from what I heard)

Its very light, airy and chanty, but not too much so.

I wonder what it's like seeing the twins sing live. Combined with the music, it could be very hypnotic if they dress and act the same.

After listening to tracks by all three, I like Ida Maria the least. The "Naked" song is fun, but her other stuff I've heard doesn't move me so much.

The other two bands' albums I'll get within the next week. I already bought a ticket to see School of Seven Bells in June.

The LOTP track is decent. LOTP is one of those names that I always see kicked around on blogs and they're on the bill when I'm @ multi-act nights or what not, but I'm just like, ehhhhh. They're OK. But so is Cut Copy, so is Walter Meego, so is Shitdisco, so is Midnight Juggernaughts or whoeverelse, y'know.

And hopefully MTV will put this on Subterranean sometime soon. One of my favorites lately.

I will admit, there's some decent stuff going on with their debut Fantasy Black Channel from the iTunes Music Store clips I heard. But as soon as I wanted to fully check it out I really started getting into Woodhands debut Heart Attack which I think is a great listen. But I guess I just gotta be in the mood to properly absorb LOTP and I just haven't. So much other stuff is pulling my attention lately.

Apparently ALL clips of the Ida Maria video are now restricted from being embedded outside of youtube. confused I'll fix the original post so that it's a link.

I hate when that happens.

What do you think of Friendly Fires? I saw them live last year (opening for Lykke Li I believe) and was very impressed. Subterranean is now getting around to airing their videos and I'm considering their album also.

You're correct in that these vids don't get shown on the main channel. I had to hunt around on one of MTV's sub channels late at night to find something decent. smile
