Interesting because I thought it was much, MUCH better than AFY tour and probably ranks above TVR for me.

Really?! I just didnt see the energy she once had during her tours prior to this one. All of her tours are amazing but I think RWT didnt have that "UMPH" like the other tours

Ok, maybe we didn't watch the same shows because Janet was nonstop for 2.5 hours at my shows. She cut out all the crap that people complained about for the previous 3 tours (whimsical medley, ballad section where she sits on a stool and cries, etc.) and actually did some new stuff, like the pre-Control medley.

Just to clarify, "nonstop" and "energetic" at a concert pretty much go hand in hand for me. Maybe it was just your show - where did you see her?

i think Rock Wit You was her best tour. The staging was amazing.

I can move my hand up and down and have no energy or enthusiasm while doing it. But thats neither here or there. I saw her at the Staples Center.

What I heard from Janet's last album was better than what I heard from Janet's previous three albums. The commercial failure of Discipine had nothing to do with the quality of the music. As I've been saying for years, she's not going to have a major hit album no matter what she does, because her time has passed.

Scuttling back to J&L at the first sign of failure shows how dependent she is. She's always gone for the easiest option. The path of least resistance. Hell, if they didn't hate each other's guts, I'm sure she'd call back Rene too in a desperate attempt to recreate the glory days which are never coming back.

I have to agree with you on these. I'm not saying she's not gonna make some cool tracks with J&L but it really shows how one-dimensional she is. But at least she admits it, unlike Michael who can't be bothered to go back to Quincy.

That's great news. Her best music is with J&L so this is wonderful.

I don't disagree with the fact that janet will never recapture the control through All for you period that signaled the height of her career. I just
disagree with you saying jam & lewis are past their prime. Not that these guys have anything to prove. They can call it quits today and will have accomplished more than most of these clown ass producers out today will ever accomplish in their lifetime. Chaka Khan's 2007 release is living proof.

I'm very happy she is back with Jam&Lewis (although it will just be Jimmy).
I hope they collaborate with Rodney and Danja on a couple of songs.
Rodney hopes to work with Janet on the entire album with Jam&Lewis.

I also want a hard-hitting angry/rock track!

If she's smart, she'll start to re-ride her acting in some capacity instead of "riding" JD.

I agree with you.

DISCIPLINE is fantastic. The lack of mainstream success has nothing to do with the album's quality. The album is one of her best, and comparing success and sales is silly. The lack of success/sales/attention is in the hands of those who sell the record, as Janet merely provides the art and has nothing to do with selling the record.

We need to face the fact that Janet has been blacklisted since her DAMITA JO album. While it is easy to say she's too old or whatever, the dramatic decline in mainstream popularity between ALL 4 YOU and DAMITA JO cannot be ignored.

The RWU TOUR was a great show. This was the only one I've seen from her, but I can tell you that she was very special in the show. Janet was outstanding, performing at her best despite the fact that the arena was not sold out. Janet proved herself as a legendary entertainer, one who refuses to be confined by the conditioned mainstream consensus that she ought to be done.

Janet is by no means finished. In fact, she may be stronger/better than she's ever been before....

Harlepolis

It ain't about who she works "with",,,its about the same recycled method she been naggin' on us ever since All 4 U. Reason why she was so successful to begin with was the fact that her music wasn't redundant.

Beside, Its already proven that reunions don't work out unless you bring out something new and fresh(Mary J & Puffy, Prince & Wendy and Lisa and other failed attempts).

Lets just hope this time its DIFFERENT and not another competition against the "younger" flavors of the month.
