Jimmy Jam confirms reunion with Janet

http://www.youtube.com/wa...read=61487

Good news. I would love for her to do an album with Jam & Lewis and Rodney Jerkins as the only collaborators. All uptempos except for a few (clean) J&L ballads.

Now all I need is for Jermaine to confirm that he has split with Janet.

Glad to hear Flyte Tyme will be returning. It's almost like Janet is a band and Discipline had a different line-up.

Surprisingly enough her material with Rodney was pretty great, and I would be excited to see them do more uptempo work (Rodney himself has said he would do a whole record with her). And JD apparently produced a few fluke outstanding tracks (Rock With U, So Much Betta) which I doubt he actually produced lol But he definitely needs to sit down somewhere.

Apparently she is in talks with a few labels right now. What I am guessing she is going to do is bring a finished album to a label then work out the details of the contract - that way she doesn't have to do another Discipline, which was basically a "you do this now" situation. She always worked this way with Jimmy & Terry - everything was independently financed and Virgin didn't see much of the finished project until it was delivered to them.

J&L are past it. She was actually right to ditch them on the last album. Going back to them is another sign that Janet can't make it out in the big, bad world on her own.

Im happy for her. This time though they should just be calm cool and collected and not over hype the album (as all of them were)....but its Janet and it's inevitable.

I'm not so sure about Rodney Jerkins.

1. Rodney did produced tracks for Destiny's Child & Beyonce. And Beyonce has somewhat declared war against Janet as of late. And THIS would give Beyonce reasons to accuse Janet for copying her style AND ideas.

2. Rodney also produced tracks for Michael years ago. If Rodney wasn't good enough to save the career of THAT Jackson, what makes anyone think he'll get it right with Janet?

3. Rodney also produced tracks for the (then down to 4 members) Spice Girls. And those tracks weren't consider good enough to prevent that girl band from breaking up the first time.

I don't mean to ruin the hopes of Janet-fans. But I have my doubts about Rodney's production skills at the moment.

Rodney did Feedback, Luv and Brandy's latest album, which I loved. I have no doubts.

Janet's done. She doesn't want to realize it yet. She had a good run. But it's over.

I agree. Janet just doesnt have that hunger for music anymore. Watching her perform at the "Rock Witchu" tour, she seemed so bored. Like she was doing it just so her label can stop bitchin at her. Compare that tour to the "velvet rope" or even "all for you"

Interesting because I thought it was much, MUCH better than AFY tour and probably ranks above TVR for me.

Really?! I just didnt see the energy she once had during her tours prior to this one. All of her tours are amazing but I think RWT didnt have that "UMPH" like the other tours
