I remember that very well...the end of the show I'll never forget with Prince and the sucker in his mouth next to Quincy Jones.

like Tevin's singing here, Even EL had to look at him like What? when he hit that note. You being serious? El Debarge was awful in that clip. At least Tevin hit the notes.

I believe that was in 95 This was in 94 Someone correct me Under certain circumstances, urgent circumstances, desperate circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.

Listening to these guys, especially together, always makes me think of what a massive influence Stevie Wonder was on male R&B singers. More than any of the other legends from the 60s/70s, I'd say. You can literally hear him in almost all of them.... "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin

scriptgirl said: Classic! Always loved this track. Never seen this performance. So many great singers. The only weak link in the chain was Usher. An omen of the future there. Fakes like that would soon take over. Did D'Angelo really write this track? By himself? “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

As far as I know, he wrote the whole track his ownself.
Midnight I agree re Usher. I said it once and I'll say it again: Sit DOWN, Usher. Show some respect for your elders, who can out sing your ass. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

IIRC, it was written by D'Angelo (it is entitled "U Will Know" after all) and co-produced by D'Angelo and Brian McKnight. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I see D'angelo went to the Prince school of grammar. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Radio.....is DEAD. Heyy, Mint Condition's is being played on the radio. Their latest hit "Nothing Left to Say" peaked at #3 on Urban AC charts & #27 on Billboard's Top Hip/Hop & R&B Songs charts. So Mint Condition is still well and alive... and looking 4 a third single off "E-Life" My pick would either be "Moan" or "Gratitude" Check out the video 4 "Nothing Left to Say" http://www.youtube.com/wa..._3qrNYeAgw

(i still agree that radio is dead) Though my next pick as a single would be "Right Here". "Moan" is also a good choice too.
