I heard a story that BMU performed this song elsewhere and El snatched the mike away from Tevin. Don't know how true that is, but I would pay good money to see that ish.

I enjoyed Gerald Levert's parts too(RIP Velvet Teddy Bear).

There aren't that many talented black male singers like that nowadays that I can name. Prince, Musiq, Bilal,the guy that did that song "charlene". Those are the only ones I can think of.

I love this song more now than when it was released nearly 15 years ago.

I've always loved this song -- our first taste of the genius of D'Angelo. R. Kelly was conspicuously absent for this live performance (Usher and Joe took his part, which is fitting since Joe built an entire career as a poor man's R). Raphael Wiggins (Saadiq) must've been a last-minute scratch, because his brother Dwayne took his part but they still had Raph's name. Keith Sweat was also missing (Melvin Edmunds of After 7 took his part and then sang his own).

The person standing to El's left is the third member of After 7 (the one who isn't Babyface's brother).

Dino of H-Town was still alive at this point, but I only saw Shazam and GI on the clip. To the person who asked about H-Town, they were proteges of Luke Campbell (of 2 Live Crew fame) most famous for the #1 hit "Knockin' Da Boots" from '93. If you were alive then and listened to R&B, I have no idea how you escaped hearing it:

Does anyone remember when they tried to do a female version of "You Will Know" They had the hottest R*B and rap female acts at the time on one song for the Panther soundtrack but it wasn't as good as "You Will Know."
