David Archuleta can sing WAY better than prince. He doesn't need to use falsetto to reach higher notes and has an excellent range I'm sorry but it's a fact. There are many people who don't think prince can sing at all.

I'm torn. I was impressed with David's early moments on Idol and the clips prior. But the music he has put out since is your standard middle of the road AC crap. I wonder if he is happy with the material they gave him?

give the kid a break he's barley 18, it was his first album and the music industry isn't how it used to be. He probably wasn't even given that much any freedom, besides he was underaged when he made it and still under the control of his father, now that he's 18 maybe we will see an improvement, he says he does write songs.

Prince doesn't have a typical toneful voice that most would associate with "good singers", but given the inexcusable blandness and any lack of humanity that typically ensues from having the "singing competition" or "AOR" -type of singing voice I think most of us know why we come to this site.

"inexcusable blandness"...that sums up archuleta nicely. I wish the kid the best but his song is just pure crap. Perhaps if they used real instruments it would be palatable - but that would eat into the profits, wouldn't it.
