Ian sounds an awful lot like Neil Diamond to me these days. Time & a million cigarettes will do that, I suppose. I like the way his voice has mellowed over the years, though...I used to get a little weary of him always shrieking at the top of his range on their early records.

Yeah, i liked the shrieking too, added a bit more edge. I think he's still got a very good voice, but he can sound a bit monotimus these days.

The Cutter (personal favourite Echo), Back of Love & Heads Will Roll: The shrieking works for me on all of those songs. I do find it wears on me after a while, though.
