I agree completely. Beyonce does the same thing every time. Same look, same kind of music. Beyonce no doubt is the bigger star though and is without question more talented, but I personally prefer Rihanna. I like her music and style better. She's more interesting to me.
You know, I had high hopes for 'Yonce when she first came out. I know "Crazy In Love" was really just a good Chi-Lites sample with a go go beat, but I thought chick was onto something. But it never really happened. I thought she was a songwriter, but now it seems she has very little to do with the songwriting process. So yeah, she does sing better than Rihanna, (but I find Beyonce's voice itself to be average. She uses it better than she used to, but it's nothing special to my ears. And she sings without soul). And she has more energy than Rihanna, but she does not seem to be any more of an artist than her. She feels every bit a market-tested to me. And she doesn't even seem to have as much style. That's really something considering how long B's been in the biz.

BDay felt empty lyrically, but it seemed a personality might be emerging. But I Am Sasha Farce just feels like a cynical "cover all your bases" scramble to keep the brand alive. I liked "Single Ladies" for about a week, but the rest of the CD feels really incoherent and dull.

I hated crazy in love so much when I first heard it, but it grew on me. I was upset with baby boy and how college students were loving it, cause I knew she was better than that. I only really liked Crazy in Love, Naughty Girl and Dangerously in Love which was on Survivor anyway. She was nice as a performer but really good when she was with Prince at the Grammys and singing, that's when I had hope for her again, cause I was all excited for her going solo when she was still with DC. Then she won me over with B'day though there are similarities. She used her voice better, there was more of an old school flavour mixed in with some hip hop, the BALLADS imo were great and that was the Beyonce I was waiting for, cause I loved her in austin powers III with that song Work it Out. Anyways, I do like her new album, but I'm not moved by it like B'day and bought the short version, which I stopped having on heavy rotation after a month.
