Toni Braxton, Let It Flow.

Baby Face was the shit back in the day, writing hits for everybody. This is one of his best songs, given to the smokiest voice this side of heaven.

http://www.youtube.com/wa...ABnR_VJxCA

Too bad Toni was fiendin for cash and sacrificed her voice for mindless dance music. Her voice works better with slow jams like this. Ask Prince for some songs gurrl.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

actually, "Comfortable", is not a bad track. The track that he did with Pharell on was worse.

Which song? I know Pharell worked with Face on the Face to Face album. Did they work 2gether again?

Folks do have 2 eat, but Face should be worth (damn-near) a billion dollars. Hell, he has 20 years of hits and should be still getting paid MAD Residuals for his catalog.

I agree but "Should" and is are 2 different things.

The royalties issue is still a tricky subject. I still haven't quite figured out how that shit works.

I was shocked to read once that Smokey Robinson didn't get his royalty checks untill the 90s hmm it differs from an artist to another coz sure as stone hell Bob Dylan didn't have to wait for his checks to come.

I think the track was called, "There she goes". That track sucked, compared to "Comfortable".

I don't care if he's gotta tap dance on the side of the road holding a sign that says "Will Sing for Food." There's NO excuse for an artist of Face's caliber and history to EVAH enter a studio with that syrup sippin' Predator-troll. EVAH!!! lol

And I didn't like the song but that could just be cuz I HATE Lil Wayne. lol

That was the lead single from Face's "Face to Face" album. They also did a few other trax for that album. I didn't think it was that bad. neutral

No it wasn't that bad but, up until that time, Face had really not done something that sounded like that before. I guess I wasn't used to it. Although, "Comfortable", is uptempo, it still has a "Face groove", to it.

Remember, Smokey was signed to Motown and Berry Gordy owned the publishing on the songs. He did that until the late 80s (when he sold it). I don't even know if Jobet publishing still exists.

I remember that There She Goes track. That was when it seemed Babyface was trying too hard, maybe in the midst of a midlife crisis and rummaged Lenny Kravitz's closet.

Wayne ruins Comfortable with his horrible voice.

I agree it was a good album. Hell after the boring "the day" album face had
no where to go but up. Most of the album was midtempo to uptempo songs. I
was like damn face ain't jammed like that since he was with the deele.
I liked there she goes despite not being a pharrell fan. Other favorites
outside in inside out, stress out, callin your name, and don't take it
personal.

Well, I disagree. I thought that "The Day", was a great CD, if you think of it as a conceptual CD. He wrote it for his wife and unborn son. I loved tracks like,"7 Seas", "All Day Thinkin'" I really liked that CD. The only track that I liked from "Face To Face", was "What If". Aside from that song, that entire CD sounded strange.

Dont nobody want no broke heart
And dont nobody want no two time losers
Aint nobody gonna love you like you are
If you take whatever he brings your way
You see the thing of it
Is we deserve respect
But we cant demand respect without change
There comes a time when we must go our own way

music

I've always loved that part! I used to be obsessed with "Let It Flow" when I was younger, I would play it all the time for hours (like I really knew something about heartbreak at 10 years old lol but still), it's a great song. One of my favorites by Toni by far, if not my favorite.

I felt the same way you did about Face to Face. I didn't like it until about 2 or 3 years after it was released. When I revisited it, I really liked it. If that album had been released 5 years later (when Pharell had blown up), it would be considered a modern classic.

On the other hand, I thought The Day was very weak and boring as hell. I thought it had some great songs, but as an album, it was horrible.
