Nik Kershaw- Don't Ask Me/ 17 ghosts/ Cowboys and Indians/Radio Musicola/etc...

...

When I first saw Nik Kershaw in the mid 80's, I assumed he was just one of those haircut-teen Idol pop stars that got thrust into the limelight...until I saw his "Desert Island Disc" collection, and saw that he liked all the same people I did-- Steely Dan, Pat Metheny, Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, Weather Report, Level 42, Joni Mitchell etc...so I gave a listen, and this time I was like, Ok, I see...Smart Pop! biggrin

Nik Kershaw - Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, Vocals
Wix - Keyboards
Vinnie Colauita, Simon Phillips - Drums
Jerry Hey, Kim Hutchcroft, Seawind Horns--Brass
Mark King(Level 42) -- Bass on "Easy"
Nick Beggs(Kajagoogoo) --Bass on "Old House (17 Ghosts)"

Don't Ask Me

I remember you liking Nik Kershaw. He must still be living off the royalties off "the one and only" by Chesney Hawkes. It was a huge hit in the UK. Bigger and longer lasting then any hit he ever had unfortunately lol

"Cowboys and indians" is probably my fav track by him. Love it. Vinnie Colaiuta's drumming on the track is great, particually on the fade out. Peter Wolf is probably my fav producer ever, and his production on the song, and the album "the works" in general, is excellent, even gorgeous in places.

Yeah, I love those accents and attacks--sounds like guns going off, lol Vinnie is one of my favorite drummers!
