Damn! now why did you have to go there? I especially loved her duets with Marvin Gaye. [Edited 1/3/09 15:59pm]

Wow, I didn't know she sang this before Stevie! This is really nice, but I like Stevie's better. www.maximum-jackson.com

There's something haunting in both Tammi's voice and the Andantes in this song.

didn't somebody post this not too long ago? Anywho, the song is haunting, has a sadness to it. it's still good, but i prefer Stevie's version so i can party to it. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

This song gets posted every few months, everybody likes it, some people think it's the best, some people prefer Stevie's version, the word "haunting" is used... http://prince.org/msg/8/285379 "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Poor Tammi, she was beaten very badly by both James Brown and David Ruffin. She had a gorgeous voice with definitely a hint of sadness in it.

My mother told me she was the love of Marvin Gaye's life and that he wasn't the same after she passed.

Well Marvin claimed that he and Tammi never really were romantically involved...though I believe, emotionally, she WAS the love of his life...and he was the love of her life too. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yes, this is my fave version of this song. I love Tammi's voice. She is so underrated to me as a singer. She was so talented and charismatic. There's no doubt in my mind that she would have been a big star if she had lived longer. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always
