Roxy Music underrated

I really think that Roxy Music has been overlooked as being a major musical force.
They were so progressive and clever. But, they are hardly mentioned as influenial or 'classic'.
Not to mention, Bryan Ferry is GORGEOUS!

I hope that's not true. What a shame, if so. It seems like after Eno left them all the publicity went with him and to Bowie (no knock on David, of course.)
Their music is so ground-breaking (even to this day) and etherial. So romantic and uplifting.
Also, I was watching a documentary on Jeri Hall the other day and I just can't believe she left BRYAN FERRY for MICK JAGGER. I guess Bryan was devistated. Jeri got what she deserved, imo.

I like their late 70s , early 80s very much, they were a big influence of the 80s new wave 'ABC, Simple Minds... + Id love to hear P do a cover of "Love is a drug"...

Didn't y'all know that Roxy reunited last year to do a world tour? I really wanted to see them at Madison Square Garden but I couldn't mad. Anyways, I think they're awesome and they were definitely an influence on the new wave/new romantic bands of the '80's. I just think that Bryan Ferry has a very strange but distinctive voice to be a serious trubadour. Some of my favorite tracks include :Pyjamarama, Virginia Plain, Street Life, Love is the Drug, Same Old Scene, and of course, More Than This.
NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

yeah see... i prefer their earlier rawer material like remake/remodel, pyjamarama, do the strand, the bogus man, editions of you, virginia plain... as opposed to the (someone said this before--can't remember who) creamy dance band they ended up becoming with stuff like the manifesto lp, and the avalon lp also. i think that these are BOTH great albums, but i remember hearing them for the first time thinking "damn! where'd the ROCK go? what the hell happened here?" also... (this is another quote i agree with, think it was from the rolling stone record guide) the line between bryan ferry's solo career and roxy blurred at the point of manifesto (or maybe even flesh and blood).

eno (it is said) loves the raw "natural" sound of synthesizers... he likes making them sputter and fart and act up... listen to the first roxy album and tell me that ain't the truth! lol
