WHY WHY WHY?! How are you gonna come on a Prince site and call him a "poor Man's MJ"? I hope you're not expecting anyone to agree with you here. That is completely untrue anyway. Prince is a genius and is certainly an artist in his own right. This whole MJ vs. Prince thing is useless though. This topic has been beaten to death.

Early Prince sounds stronger than MJ, but I love mj overall way more from the 70's to present

Both. Prince lets go and includes splits and floor moves, mj has memorable routines and freestyles great

Both. Prince also plays instruments, but MJ keeps me on my feet

Both. Prince stays away from cliches, MJ writes memorable hooks and adlibs

I know one thing, I am going to listen to the 5 new Prince songs that came out last week again cause I really dig them a lot and I encourage everyone in here reading this to listen to them if you haven't already. I wish that MJ had 5 new songs for me to listen to right now too. Not to compare to Prince or even old MJ but to listen to and have fun with on it's own merit. MJ needs to get better so we can hear what else he has up his sleeve. If Prince can still keep on going, then MJ should too.

Here's hoping that Prince and MJ can dazzle us again in 2009.

I love the fact prince is always musically active and putting out stuff, even if I don't like all of it. I'm very selective when it comes to Prince, but I have high respect for his art and know that I like some and can't stand others, but art does that to you. I won't go out buying every prince record, just the ones I really dig, and I have about 10 of them i think.

I wish mj was coming out with stuff more often like Prince was and doing music independently, just to get his music heard.

I wish everytime someone wants to talk MJ or Janet we could insert a James Brown, Sly Stone, G.Clinton, thread instead.

Don't get me wrong the Prince music section here is also getting far away from music discussion too.

I haven't seen anyone offer anything new (sane, analytical music based discussion) on MJ in a long time, would like to see orgers expand into some new musical and I stress musical discussions.

The only one that could ever come close to Prince was Rick James. As far as "best dancer", "best video", etc. goes, these artists are supposed to be making music, not damn broadway shows.

Past that MJ was just doing the same old routines while prince was evolving and changing his routines
Prince also changes his songs live and makes them better whereas MJ does not

Best Song Writer - Prince
MJ has some memorable songs lyrically ( especially from HIStory) but prince has always written his songs and as such has evolved has a much better songwriter overall than MJ

This is easy. Prince plays instruments ( very well), MJ does not

Overall, as an artist prince is up there with people like bob dylan and stevie wonder so another leaugue to MJ

In terms of fame and superstardom, Noone comes close to MJ

And im not biased towards price as I was an Mj fan long b4 i started liking prince (which was only about 8 months ago)
