I don't understand why at the end of the song, it skips back to the beginning?
On this Youtube video they just cut it off at that point, but on the real song it's like the beginning of the tape was pasted on the end of the song, mid chorus booooing "everybody get funky" <---- me we already got funky!

I have this song on a compilation CD and in the liner notes, they mention the song's odd ending:
"note the odd ending with its super-twisted electronic boing right out of some sci-fi cartoon"

What really bugged Lyn about this song was the overdub James did on his own vocals .. the constant "ayayayayahaa" in the background. When the song was re-released on the Funky Divas CD, she requested a new mix, with those annoying vocals taken out.

"BOOOOIIIIING" I ain't gon' say no mo'!!!!! Speculation!! But it's true that Lyn was JB's girlfriend for a while. Pretty much all the ladies he worked with were, except for backing vocalist Martha High. That's probably why she managed to stick around for almost 35 years. Vicki Anderson wasn't either, because she hooked up with Bobby Byrd, which was one of the reasons for the end of the friendship between Byrd and Brown.

I have to say that both of Lyn's albums on People were outstanding. I wouldn't know how to pick a favorite between the tour. And the many non-album tracks released as single B-sides add Lyn's legacy. She was definitely my favorite James Brown produced vocalist, and ranks among my favorite female singers.

BUT- It DOES sound like Mr. Brown is close enough to do such a thing.....
