Ok, um, yeah, I kinda-like had to buy 3 copies of Velvet Rope because that stayed in my Discman in high school.

Other than that, I mainly buy multiple copies to be excessive or über-fammish. Since iTunes, I really don't need to play out a CD anymore.

Alej, I have Butterfly on CD. It's my fave Mariah album.

I've only done that to a few albums. They were mostly cassettes, though. The first is Keith Sweat's Make It Last Forever. I origially bought it on cassette. I played it so much that the cassette faded out in parts. I eventually upgraded to cd, though.

I also wore out the ATWIAD cassette.

It's not that rare. I see it quite frequently at used stores here in texas.

I always offer to let people borrow my music but I'm glad they don't take me up on it. Someone, however did borrow a movie of mine and has moved. Not a huge deal, but kind of sucky. Frankly, I'm at the point where I should be getting rid of some of my movies.

To answer the original question, since I only just know started buying vinyl, it hasn't happened yet. My Cds are pretty scratched up (not sure how, actually) but they all play fine. The CD booklet one of the first CDs I ever bought, Madonna's "Bedtime Stories", isn't in great shape. Maybe I should get a new copy. If Warners was smart, they would in the process of rereleasing Madonna's remaining albums with extra content (although they can do better than just three remixes).

I still buy albums and will continue to do so. It's the thrill of being a music collector. I don't get any joy from downloading music.

Actually, original copies are pretty rare, but the album has been reissued. So what you are frequently seeing might be the reissue.
Also, Harlepolis might have several copies of the reissued vinyl, and not the original wink
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
