The thing i dont see is the "comparison" ? They are both icons of their day and to me thats where the comparison should end. The comparison of the two is about as insane as the Prince and Michael Jackson comparisons. I have never heard or seen any article that has said britney is a good singer? if i missed that then please someone post it. If the problem is her being a manufactured pop star, well, then compare her to Rihanna or someone like that. Beyonce, with all her faults is in a different league than Britney, but this ONGOING game of comparisons of every single artist that is "Popular" should just end. This is why things like the internet are more of a monster than a blessing, this is where crappy thoughts like this come from.
Can u imagine back in the day if the internet existed, we would be comparing Stevie and Sly, or if one had a bad "note" we would rag them and post that shit on you Tube. Beyonce does what she does and Britney does what she does, two totally different fields of music and a huge difference between performers and the type of performing they are doing. [Edited 12/14/08 8:08am] Honestly i agree on some things, but Beyonce does create alot of her own issues much in the way mariah does, just not as blatant. If you are going to come out every video as a sex object, your voice will always be at the end of the list of things being looked at. Its a game and beyonce wants both the icon status and be pop star at the same time, well you cant have it all. Ryan Adams is an artist but not an icon, he will never be, but he accepts it, because the product he puts out there speaks volumes more than status or a chart position.
