1995 Throw Back; Joan Osborne's Relish

Because of the 90s list I was thrown right back at worshipping this record. I love the raunchy blues feel to this. I had an instant hook to Joan's raspy voice and how she let it break, like a guitar would twang.

I am so glad this album had some time to drive it's claws into my soul before the 'One Of Us' bug caught the MTV crowd and it became mainstream; it might have turned me off the album. But now I was able to love St Teresa and Spider Web and a magnificent Dylan cover of Man In The Long Black Coat.

I love how she uses a lot of metaphors for religion throughout the album without ut getting preachy or restricting. Whenever I hear this I want to ride bikes, go roll in hay stacks and go to barn dances and smooch farm guys.

mushy

St Teresa

And wasn't it funny how Prince homed in onto One Of Us like an over-zealous apostle and turned it into something yucky?

I.

LOVE.

THIS.

ALBUM!

I have no idea what is happening with her nowadays. I mean I know she did that breakfast in bed thing but I don't liker her covering as much as I like her doing her own thing. I thought How Sweet it is was a great cover album but it seems like they are trying to market her with this cover stuff when she is incredible with original material (Relish & Righteous Love).

Just checked CDnow and she has something new out called Little Wild One. This looks like original material and just listened to the video posted at Cdnow.com and I'm in LOVE love

Now if I can only find that damn clip of her and Melissa Etheridge on VH1 duets singing water! mushy

I am so-so. I just heard my bro-in-law WON'T fix my computer on satruday.
bawl
So I have to wait longer until I can start doing the stuff I wanna do, like edit music and all; all my engineering stuff is on the other computer. I could cry, if not for Tori Amos singing nice songs.

I love Tori too! What are U listening to? Maybe we should start a Tori appreciation thread!
