For all who were there: Had they an influence on hip-hop and the sound of 90s R'nB? I mean, they sounded so differently from the other late 80s stuff. They used that 70s vibe, right?
How's their style called?

I became a fan of their first two albums (the second one is def underrated!!) through George Michael and Madonna. I love the single remix of Madonna's Keep Together (which was inspired by SIIS) and GM was a HUGE fan of the band. He even covered Back To Life and did a Freedom 90 (Back To Reality) mix.

Also Happy, Soul Free and How Many Hearts were clearly inspired by their sound.

Caron Wheeler was the sh*t on those records. Just pulled out UK Blak last month. Forgot how good some of the songs were from that CD. Amazing voice and they were an amazing group.
