The only thing I remember from The O'Jays in the 1980s is "I Just Want To Satisfy" and "Your Body's Here With Me (But Your Mind Is On The Other Side Of Town)". Andy is a four letter word.

The name of the song is "Put Our Heads Together",from their 1983 album 'When Will I See You Again'.It's an uptempo song that was released as a single. The Ojays were going through a rough time in the 80s.There were alot of problems at Philadelphia International Records. The Ojays weren't even recording "new" material at that point. That 1983 album (and the two that came before it) consisted of previously recorded material...in other words,second-rate outtakes.A 1983 Jones Girls album also consisted of previously recorded material.
Interestingly,Gamble and Huff tried this same trick with Patti LaBelle and this time,it actually worked. They gathered up some of her 1979 outtakes, compiled it onto an album called 'I'm In Love Again' and it became one of her biggest albums. The single "If Only You Knew" is one of her signature ballads.

Those are two great songs, probably their best 80s singles, along with 1987's "Lovin You".

I don't remember that one. I don't think it got any airplay in my area. No wonder I like that one. It was recorded in 1979 and a lot of slow jams of the early 1980s still sounded like slow jams of the late 1970s. Patti LaBelle didn't start boring me with her music until "New Attitude" (which was pop) and the slow songs that followed it which sounded like adult contemporary. Andy is a four letter word.

Sorry for getting in here late, but that is one of the best O'Jays songs in their catalog! It does not get a lot of airplay, but deep disco/dance heads know about it. As was previously mentioned, Philly International was fading fast by 1983, contributing to its obscurity.
The song was written and produced by Keni Burke (former Stairstep and most remembered for 'Keep Rising To The Top' from the same time).
