The name of the song is "Put Our Heads Together",from their 1983 album 'When Will I See You Again'.It's an uptempo song that was released as a single.The Ojays were going through a rough time in the 80s.There were alot of problems at Philadelphia International Records.The Ojays weren't even recording "new" material at that point.That 1983 album (and the two that came before it) consisted of previously recorded material...in other words,second-rate outtakes.A 1983 Jones Girls album also consisted of previously recorded material.
Interestingly,Gamble and Huff tried this same trick with Patti LaBelle and this time,it actually worked.They gathered up some of her 1979 outtakes,compiled it onto an album called 'I'm In Love Again' and it became one of her biggest albums.The single "If Only You Knew" is one of her signature ballads. | |

Sorry for getting in here late, but that is one of the best O'Jays songs in their catalog! It does not get a lot of airplay, but deep disco/dance heads know about it. As was previously mentioned, Philly International was fading fast by 1983, contributing to its obscurity.
The song was written and produced by Keni Burke (former Stairstep and most remembered for 'Keep Rising To The Top' from the same time). | |
